Where to find Hippopotas in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Hippopotas is located west of Sludge Mound along the riverbank in the Crimson Mirelands region. The Crimson Mirelands is the second region you will visit after the Obsidian Fieldlands. You can also spot Hippopotas up north closer to Scarlet Bog. Both of these locations are toward the center of Crimson Mirelands. Right next to Hippopotas, you can typically find Alpha Hippowdons wandering around. If you head up the river, you can spot and catch Tangela as well.

How to Catch Hippopotas in Pokemon Legends Arceus

When attempting to catch Hippopotas or any other Pokemon, it’s essential to gain the element of surprise. Your catch chance will be higher if you sneak up on the Pokemon and hit them in the back with the Pokeball. To crouch, press the “B” button, then try to get into some tall grass for extra cover. Use fruits to distract the Pokemon while you maneuver around. If you mess up and scare Hippopotas, he might either fight you or run away. It’s always easier to try and be sneaky.
