When it comes to classic Pokémon, you can’t get much more classic than Bulbasaur. It’s literally the very first Pokémon in the entire National Dex. That’s number one out of over 900. That little bulb toad deserves all the praise it can get, which is why Pokémon GO is doing something a little different from usual for its Community Day. So, what is the Bulbasaur Community Day Classic Special Research Ticket in Pokémon GO?
Today, January 22nd from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in your local time zone, Pokémon GO will once again be holding a Community Day event. In this case, it’s a special secondary Community Day called Community Day Classic, a repeat of a previous Community Day event and the star of this special show is none other than National Dex Number 1, Bulbasaur.
As is the case with normal Community Day events, Bulbasaurs will be appearing more frequently in the wild for the event’s duration, which also means a greater chance to find a shiny Bulbasaur. Additionally, if you can evolve your Bulbasaur all the way up to a Venusaur, it’ll learn the special Grass type move Frenzy Plant. Finally, you’ll get triple XP for all catches, and Incenses and Lure Modules will last the entire event duration if deployed.
What’s the Bulbasaur Community Day Classic Special Research Ticket in Pokémon GO?
In addition to the usual festivities, Pokémon GO’s in-game store is offering a Special Research Ticket to be used during the event. You can purchase this ticket for $0.99 USD to unlock the Special Research Story “Bulbasaur Community Day Classic.”
The precise contents of the Special Research Story have not been divulged at time of writing, but based on previous Community Day tickets, it’ll likely be a series of research tasks, such as catching a bunch of Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, taking pictures with Pokémon, and so on. The rewards will more than likely be free Bulbasaur encounters, as well as helpful items like Poké Balls and Rare Candy. So whether you really like Bulbasaur or just want a chance to get some cool stuff, this’ll definitely be an event you’ll want to pay up for.
