How to Reach Mt. Coronet Summit in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

How to Reach Mt. Coronet Summit in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Mountain climbers have often said of their particular vocation that the only reason they climb mountains is because the mountains are there. It’s big, it’s pointy, climb it. But I guess if you needed a better reason to climb an entire mountain, an evil organization summoning a demigod would probably suffice. Here’s how to reach Mt. Coronet’s summit in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

After you’ve dealt with Team Galactic in their Veilstone City headquarters, you’ll get a lead on their leader Cyrus. He’s headed up to the Spear Pillar at the tip-top of Mt. Coronet to use the Lake Trio’s power to call up Dialga or Palkia. We can’t have that, so you need to follow them up there. Just a heads up, you’ll be making use of Rock Climb during this process, but since you don’t need Pokémon to know HMs anymore, that’s not really a problem.

To reach Mt. Coronet’s summit in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

  1. Enter the mountain from either Route 207 or 208
  2. In the northern part of the main cave, Surf across the body of water, then Rock Climb upwards
  3. Follow the path to the snow-covered portion, keep heading east, and use Rock Climb on the outer wall once
  4. Go west, follow the path into a cave, and use Rock Climb one more time

You can enter Mt. Coronet proper from caves in either Route 207 or 208. They’ll both get you into the main cave area, and once you’re there, you need to get up to the northernmost part of the map. You should see a long body of water that you can use Surf to cross, and a Rock Climb wall on the other side.

Follow the path upward until you come out of the cave onto a snowy path. Keep going eastward until you come upon another Rock Climb wall. Scale it, but only do so once; there’s another wall you don’t need to bother with.

Follow the path west through some tall grass until you come upon another cave entrance. In here is one last Rock Climb wall; scale it, and just follow the path until you find yourself at the Spear Pillar.
