Path of Exile (PoE) Fracturing Orb Explained

If you’re an avid Path of Exile player, then you know that there’s always something new around the corner with this game. It’s a title that’s seen many changes over the years, big and small. But it seems that one of the biggest yet has entered the fray.

Recently, a new item has appeared in the game, shaking up a lot of things revolving around fractured items. That’s all due to the Fracturing Orb. Though its name may not sound very intriguing to some, it’s a very powerful object that’s changing the game for a lot of people. So, let’s explain what that Fracturing Orb really is in Path of Exile.

Path of Exile (PoE) Fracturing Orb Explained

The Fracturing Orb is a new currency item that’s been implemented into Path of Exile. It has singlehandedly replaced the Harvest Crafts for fractured items, making it a bit easier to actually get the darn things. Before, fracturing while using the Harvest Crafts was nearly impossible unless you had the pocket change for it. Luckily, the Fracturing Orb has created a clearer progression path in order to actually acquire fractured items.

In order to acquire Fracturing Orbs though, you’re going to need to get them from Harbinger or Harbinger-related items, as they’re location restricted. Though they can be crafted with 20x Fracturing Shards, 1x Forboding Incubator, or 1x Forboding Delirium Orb as well. This makes those looking to make some moves with Harbinger farming a very lucrative venture.

It’s important to note that Fracturing Orbs won’t work on Fractured, Influenced, or Synthesized items. They also won’t reroll modifiers already placed on an item. But the cool thing is that they’re compatible with Eldrich implicit modifiers.

Here’s some more detail on the Fracturing Orb

• Description: “Fracture a random modifier on a rare item with at least 4 modifiers, locking it in place.”
• Use – Used to fracture a rare item with at least 4 modifiers
• Drop Restricted (Lvl 1) – Drops from Harbinger or Harbinger-related rewards
• Stack Size: 20
• Vendor Offer: 1x Scroll Fragment

Once you get one, you’ll just need to right-click the Fracturing Orb, then left-click the rare item that you want to apply it to. That’s all there is to it! It’s definitely a cool item and it’s sure to make most players happy, especially with it giving Harvest Crafts the boot!
