It is a new season for Overwatch 2 after the first left players with plenty of feedback for the developers. We’ve compiled all that we can for now about the changes and additions Season 2 of Overwatch 2 will include before its release. Check out our page once the season goes live for all updates, but for now, this is everything we know that Blizzard will be implementing in Season 2.
This piece now includes all covered information needed as provided via the Patch Notes as of the update going live for Season 2 (7:00 GMT).
All Character Changes
- Damage Role Passive no longer provides a movement speed bonus and reload speed bonus has been increased from 25 to 35%.
- Doomfist – Has had a full-on change across his abilities and stats. These include the following:
- Meteor Punch’s impact damage range increased from 15-30 to 25-50.
- Wall slam damage range has been reduced from 20-40 to 10-30 in damage.
- Empowered Rocket Punch wall slam duration has been reduced from 0.5-1 to 0.25 to 0.75 seconds.
- Non-Empowered Rocket Punch now stuns enemies for the minimum 0.25 second duration on wall slam.
- Empowered Rocket Punch knockback radius has been reduced from 4 to 3 meters.
- Cancel option has been reduced from 0.25 seconds to 0.12 seconds.
- Cooldown reduced from 4 to 3 seconds.
- Power Block has received a cooldown reduced from 8 to 7 seconds, duration increased from 2 to 2.5 seconds and minimum damage mitigated required to empower Rocket Punch reduced from 90 to 80 damage.
- Meteor Strike now empowers Rocket Punch on landing and enemy slow duration has been increased from 2 to 3 seconds.
- His maximum temporary health has been increased from 150 to 200 health and his temporary health gained per target hit with abilities has been increased from 30 to 40 health.
Junker Queen
- Torso and head hit volume size has been increased by 12%.
- Rampage wound duration has been reduced from 5 to 4.5 seconds and the Ultimate cost of it has been reduced by 10%.
- Commanding Shout’s cooldown has been reduced from 15 to 14 seconds.
- Adrenaline Rush’s passive healing multiplier has been increased from 1 to 1.25% damage dealt by wounds.
Bastion
- Configuration Artillery
- Delay before projectile drops reduced from 1 to 0.6 seconds.
- Explosion damage reduced from 300 to 250.
- No longer damages Bastion.
- Minimum delay between placing shots reduced by 20%.
- Reconfigure
- Cooldown reduced from 12 to 10 seconds.
Sojourn
- Railgun:
- Energy delay before draining reduced from 8 to 5 seconds.
- Secondary fire damage falloff starting range has been reduced from 70 to 40 meters.
- Secondary fire critical damage multiplier has been reduced from 2 to 1.5
- Secondary fire damage now scales linearly with energy from 30 to 130 damage.
- Primary fire damage per projectile has been increased from 9 to 10.
- Overclock energy charge rate has been increased by 20%.
Symmetra
- Proton Projector
- Beam charge rate and decay rate increased by 20%.
- Primary fire ammo consumption rate has been increased from 7 to 10 per second.
- Primary fire gains ammo from damaging barriers.
Tracer
- Pulse Pistols damage has been increased from 5 to 6.
Ana
- Sleep dart cooldown has been reduced from 15 to 14 seconds.
Kiriko
- Arm hit volumes width reduced by 15%.
- Auto-wall climb hero option implemented.
- Kitsune Rush:
- Ultimate cost increased by 10%.
- Movement speed bonus reduced from 50% to 30%.
- Cooldown rate has been reduced from 3 to 2 times faster.
- Protection Suzu’s cast time has been reduced from 0.15 to 0.1 second.
- Kunai’s ammo has been increased from 12 to 15.
- Swift Step’s ability input can now be held to activate.
Mercy
- Weapons swap time reduced from 0.5 to 0.35 seconds.
- Caduceus Blaster’s ammo has been increased from 20 to 25.
Features Added
- New tank Hero Ramattra is added. Can be unlocked via the Battle Pass upon reaching Level 45 or immediately with the purchase of the Premium Battle Pass.
- Escort map Shambali Monastery (Night) is added – home of Zenyatta and Ramattra as a one-off addition.

- Legendary Hades Pharah (Battle Pass unlock)
- Battle for Olympus limited-time game mode (starts on January 5 and ends on January 19)
- Winter Wonderland starts on December 13 and will end on January 4
- Catch up Heroes Challenge implemented as a way for free-to-play players to obtain the new Heroes they missed out on from within the Battle Pass. This will be done by sending you into the Practice Range to tackle challenges when learning their abilities and winning with them. These currently include Junker Queen, Sojourn and Kiriko.
