New World Camp Leveling Rewards

How to upgrade and level your Camp in New World

Building a Camp serves many purposes in New World, including crafting and resting. Camps also serve as a respawn point, so it’s good practice to place them nearby in dangerous areas or locations where you anticipate you may die. It could save you a ten-minute run back from town, in some cases. How do you upgrade and level your Camp in New World, though? We’ll explain everything you need to know in this guide.

Before we explain how to upgrade and level your Camp in New World, we’ll explain how to build a basic one.

How to build a camp in New World

First, if you’re new to New World, you’ll want to learn how to build and place a Camp. The tutorial does a good job explaining this, but as a refresher, here’s how you do it:

  • Press the “Y” key
  • Place the camp somewhere not too close to a landmark
  • Deposit 5 Green Wood and 1 Flint to build the camp

You can also use other players’ camps that you come across in the wilderness. When you walk over to one, interact with it to set it as your recall point. You can then use it to craft things, as you would your own camp. Alright, so what about getting a higher tier camp in New World?

How to upgrade and level your Camp in New World

To upgrade and level your Camp in New World, you will need to hit a certain level and complete the corresponding survivalist quest. These quests automatically unlock at levels 5, 15, 25, 40, and 55. The quests typically unlock in the city where you first spawned after creating your character, and the territories are either Firstlight, Windsward, Monarchs Bluff, or Everfall.

Here is a complete breakdown of the required levels and quests you’ll need to complete to upgrade and level your Camp in New World:

LevelCamp TierQuestLocation
51Starting Survivalist QuestStarting zone
152Friends in FashionFirstlight, Windsward, Monarchs Bluff, or Everfall
253Animal InstinctsBrightwood, Cutlass Keys
404Lupine ObservationsRestless Shore, Great Cleave

In short, if you are just starting your journey in New World and wondering how to make a Camp Tier 2, you’ll need to complete the Survivalist: Friends in Fashion quest at level 5. Pull up your map or open your journal (“J” key) and look for the yellow marker to find the appropriate “Side Stories” quest name. Upon completion, you will automatically begin making Tier 2 camps.

The process of unlocking and completing the Survivalist quests is the same at each level milestone (5, 15, 25, 40, and 55). If you ever want to check your leveling progress and see how close you are to unlocking the Camp upgrade quest, press the “K” key, navigate to the Attributes tab, and tap on “View Leveling Rewards” on the bottom left.

Higher tier Camps unlock additional crafting recipes, allowing you to make more powerful foods and potions. The process of unlocking and completing the Survivalist quests is the same at each level milestone (5, 15, 25, 40, and 55). Tier V is the highest level for your camp at the moment of writing. However, if Amazon Games adds more content and increases the level cap, there’s a good chance the Camp tier will also increase. We will update accordingly in that case.
