Before diving into the details, you should know that the process to obtain these legendary weapons and armor in New World through crafting is a long journey. Reaching the maximum level for each crafting profession will undoubtedly take a lot of time and resources, so don’t expect it to be easy. Unless you are in a company and assigned a dedicated crafting profession role, you can bet you’ll be spending 100s of hours farming the materials or lots of money buying what you can off the Trading Post.

How to Craft Legendary Weapons and Armor in New World

To craft legendary weapons and armor in New World, you’ll need to meet two requirements:

  • Reach the maximum crafting profession for the corresponding item
  • Obtain the legendary Artifact Resources required to make the item

The first requirement for obtaining legendary weapons and armor is reaching the maximum level for the crafting profession to make the item. Here is the breakdown for each crafting profession:

  • Arcana – Life Staff, Fire Staff, Ice Gauntlet
  • Armoring – Voidbent Armor
  • Engineering – Spear, Hatchet, Bow, Musket
  • Weaponsmithing – Sword, Shield, Greataxe, War Hammer, Rapier

When you reach the maximum crafting skill for the desired profession, you will need to obtain the legendary Artifact Resource for each piece of item you wish to craft.

If you have a legendary Artifact Resource, you can visit the trade station for that profession and see the recipe unlock in the recipe list. Some of these items only drop from high-level endgame bosses found within the Garden of Genesis or Lazarus Instrumentality, for instance.

In addition to the legendary Artifact Resources, you’ll also need rare ingredients, such as Voidbent Ingot, which are refined through smelting, leatherworking, weaving, and logging. You can also expect to need some legendary gathering resources, all of which can be gathered manually or purchased at the Trading Post.

To summarize, you will need to obtain the legendary Artifact Resource for a particular item recipe, and then reach the max level in the corresponding profession to craft the legendary item.
