Everybody knows that NBA 2K22 is loaded with incredible features and immersive game modes. However, what may be lesser known is that gamers will now face the same tough decision that many high school hoopers do, whether to go to college or the G League. You’ll have to make the decision during the MyCareer Story Mode, and you’re probably wondering if there’s a correct choice.
We’ve got everything you need to know on the crucial decision in NBA 2K22 MyCareer below.
NBA 2K22: College and G League
The two options you have after high school in the NBA 2K22 MyCareer include:
- G League
- College (NCAA)
Similar to real-life, both options will present certain pros and cons that can help to jumpstart your NBA career. Follow along as we go through the perks for each option:
NBA 2K22 G League:
- Earn permanent 5% MyPoints accelerator to speed up the process of upgrading your MyPlayer
- Pursue endorsement opportunities on off days to earn VC and start building your Personal Brand
- Prepare yourself for the league by playing against NBA-caliber talent
- Meet the press to take control of your narrative and practice your interviewing skills
NBA 2K22 College (NCAA):
- Jump directly into the legendary single-elimination tournament (March Madness) and earn additional badge points by winning the whole thing
- Gain more fans by playing on a national stage and proving you’re a top prospect
- Earn attribute boosts for the tournament by attending practices that teach you key skills in your build
- Maintain amateur status, allowing you to sign with the G League after college (you can’t attend college after going to the G League in NBA 2K22).
Now, all these pros and cons are already laid out in-game, so you’re probably wondering what decision you should make.
Should you go to College or G League in MyCareer
It’s certainly a close call between the two, but some notable differences are laid out above. It appears that if you want to get to the NBA as fast as possible, then go with the G League route and gain some pro experience before making the jump.
Although, going the traditional college route may end up being more rewarding in the long haul. Not only will you be able to unlock Badge Points and start boosting your MyPlayer right away, but you’ll also get to experience the emotional rollercoaster that is March Madness.
You can also still go to G League afterward if you attend college. You will need to maintain “amateur status” to do so, though. All things considered, we recommend the College route to get the benefits of both College and G League in NBA 2K22.
