Not specifically talking about the customization but also the story; you may think it’s a cute little world with elves and magicians, but you’ll soon find yourself invested in defeating the Black Mage and restoring peace to the Maple world, and in return, obtain the Genesis Weapon. This guide will detail how to get the Black Mage Remnant in MapleStory.
How to get the Black Mage Remnants in MapleStory
To start this quest, you will need to be Level 255; you will also have to clear the Limina Quest before you can begin collecting Black Mage Remnants. Once you have done that, you will need to defeat the Black Mage in hard mode. This will allow you to obtain a Sealed Genesis Weapon. Finally, you will need the Black Mage Remnants to unseal this weapon.
Now that you have defeated the Black Mage, you will need to defeat his eight Afterimages to obtain the Black Mage Remnants drops in MapleStory. However, this won’t be easy, as you will have restrictions placed on you with each fight. Once you defeat an afterimage, you will have to beat the Black Mage each time to obtain a Black Mage Remnant 1x.
All Eight Afterimage and their mission requirements:
Traces of Von Leon the Lion King
- Defeat alone
- 90% decrease in Final Damage
- Only equip the Sealed Genesis Weapon and Secondary Weapon
Traces of Arkarium, the Guardian of Time
- Defeat alone
- 75% decrease in Final Damage
- Only equip the Sealed Genesis Weapon and Secondary Weapon
Traces of the Tyrant Magnus
- Defeat alone
- 50% decrease in Final Damage
- Only equip the Sealed Genesis Weapon and Secondary Weapon
Traces of Lotus, the Wing Master
- 20% decrease in Final Damage
- Defeat alon
Traces of Damien, the Sword of Destruction
- Defeat alone
- Reduce the number of lives to 5
Traces of Will, the King of Spiders
- Defeat alone
- The damage you receive will be increased by 10%
Traces of Lucid, Keeper of Nightmares
- Defeat alone
- You can only use Challenger’s Elixirs potions
