Madden 23: How to Control the Full Team in Face of the Franchise

Sometimes, you need to take matters into your own hands...

Madden 23 works much like any other Career Mode in EA sports games. You will have the opportunity to create a player and work hard from nothing and become someone that is worthy to put your silhouette on a shoe. In these Modes, players can choose which position they wish to play from: QB, WR, RB, LB, or CB. What these Modes focus on is the individual development of your character, placing them in the spotlight and seeing how you would handle each match and every step of your professional career. It allows you to get a sense in how the major leagues play and the long route to success. But even with this journey, players may find that they want to try out as the full team that revolves around a single player like Lewandowski for Poland. For those wanting to outshine their fellow teammates, this is Fisher-Shotton and Vincent’s guide on how to control the full team in Face of the Franchise.

Madden 23: How to Control the Full Team in Face of the Franchise

Madden 23’s Face of the Franchise mode is built off the player-lock feature, which only allows you to control your created player as opposed to the entire team. When it comes down to developing your player’s stats and attributes, the player-lock feature offers a fun solo experience. However, there will probably come times throughout the season when it becomes beneficial to control the whole team. If you are finding that you may be consistently losing regardless of your individual performance on the field, the option to control the entire team will massively change the outcome of the game.

Rather bizarrely Madden 23 has had a bug in its game for a long time when it comes to changing settings to state whether or not you want to play FotF as an individual player or as a full team changes based on updates or save file reloads that can force a players hand into controlling the full team. It appears the full team control has been a part of the FotF and Franchise Modes via ‘Full On-Field Control’ Option under Player Mode in Career Settings. By turning this ON you should have full control of the team. However, this is not the case for everyone.

For a lot of players, the ability to change to full team control has become the norm after playing through a season of FotF. When this bug happens, players are unable to switch back to controlling their own player. The method to switch from full team control to just your player is a Setting choice only for those playing on Franchise Mode. For those on Face of the Franchise, this choice is not made available to players, meaning that you cannot switch back to player-lock.

Instead, those who want to switch back to player-lock will have to play a different Game Mode as FotF does not offer this. But those who want to play with the full team simply need to enable Full On-Field Control on Franchise or leave the game to its default Settings for Face of the Franchise as the game appears to experience a bug that forces players from its player-lock gameplay and back into the control of a full team like a standard football match.
