Do video games even have cheats anymore? Like, not game-breaking stuff, just little benign modifications like giving everyone a big head to make things sillier? I miss those kinds of cheats. The only games you still get stuff like in are the Lego games, though perhaps that’s part of the reason these games are still so warmly received. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga still has them, though to get them, you’re gonna have to find the Data Cards. Here’s how to get Data Cards in Lego Star Wars.
Lego Star Wars has 20 cheats and bonus modes that can be toggled on and off from the pause menu. A few of these are practical, like Stud multipliers, but most of them are just silly things like turning lightsabers into baguettes or making all of the characters mumble like in the original Lego Star Wars games. To unlock these bonuses, you need to collect Data Cards scattered throughout the game’s levels, which are hidden here and there, occasionally behind ability-locked obstacles. There are 19 Data Cards in all, with the Card for Mumble Mode unlocked by default.
In addition to finding the Data Cards, you’ll also need to pay a big Stud fee to actually unlock the bonus modes. The bonus modes and their costs are as follows:
- Studs x2 – 1,000,000 Studs
- Studs x4 – 2,000,000 Studs
- Studs x6 – 8,000,000 Studs
- Studs x8 – 48,000,000 Studs
- Studs x10 – 384,000,000 Studs
- Super GNK Droid – 1,000,000 Studs
- Porg Companion – 500,000 Studs
- Baguette Lightsabers – 250,000 Studs
- Galaxy Rave – 500,000,000 Studs
- Television Mode – 250,000 Studs
- Hologram Mod – 500,000 Studs
- Retro Mode – 250,000 Studs
- GNK Civilians – 1,000,000 Studs
- Mumble Mode – Free to all, default unlock
- Comedy Weapons – 250,000 Studs
- Rainbow Effects – 250,000 Studs
- Cantina Music – 250,000 Studs
- Big Head Mode – 500,000 Studs
- Pew Pew – 500,000 Studs
- Universal Translator – 500,000 Studs
How to Get Data Cards in Lego Star Wars
Sith Citadel – Exegol
Look for an elevator under a building located south of the landing pad. Take it down, and follow the path until you come to an open area. Look for a rope hanging down from one of the pipes, climb it up, and follow the pipe until you find the Data Card.
Ewok Village – Endor
Head to your right from the landing pad. At the end of the path, you should see some vines, which you can shoot down to reveal a target switch. Blast the switch to reveal a hatch, containing the Data Card.
Crash Site – Kef Bir
Go to the village north of the crash site. There should be a house surrounded by fencing near the village’s entrance; go around the back, and you’ll find the Data Card.
Niima Outpost – Jakku
Northwest from the landing pad, you should find a Star Destroyer totaled in the sand. Near the Destroyer’s engines, there should be a cylindrical thing embedded in the sand dunes. Enter from the top, and there’s the Data Card.
Maz’s Castle – Takodana
Just a heads up: going forward, most of these Data Cards will require a character with the Grapple ability, this one included. Look for a stone pillar by the shore of the lake and Grapple up to the top, where you’ll find a pressure plate. Step on it and the Data Card will be revealed nearby.
Outpost – Crait
In the same room as the landing pad, head left and climb a series of ladders and platforms. At the top, you’ll see the Data Card on top of a cliff; just use your Grapple to hop over to it.
Cloud City – Bespin
You’ll need a character with Breaker Blaster for this one, as well as a Grappler. Go toward the nearest building from the landing pad, then circle around the outside of it to find some stairs to the Central Plaza. On the left side of the plaza is a breakable wall next to a different set of stairs. Blast the wall open and Grapple over to the Data Card.
Eco Base – Hoth
If you look up in the landing pad room, you should see the Data Card sitting on top of the lights hanging from the ceiling. Look for a wall with several Grapple points on it to make your way up. Once you’re on the lights, just follow them to the Data Card.
Dragonsnake Bog – Dagobah
Due south from the landing pad, you should find a small lake with a few crates floating in it. Off to the right is a small alcove, past which you’ll see the Data Card above a vine. Use Grapple to swing up to the vine and grab it.
Mining Complex – Mustafar
The Data Card is located behind a large vertical pipe in front of an entranceway near the landing pad. Go back the other way until you find a staircase going up, at the top of which is a platform overlooking the pipe. You can Grapple to the points on the pipe from there to get to the Data Card.
Stalgasin Hive – Geonosis
You’re going to need a Net Launcher for this one. At the top of a long hill from the landing pad, the path you’d take toward the canyons, there should be a stone building with several net Grapple points sticking out of the front. Launch a net at them to create a scalable surface, then climb up it and jump up to the top of the cliff using the handholds. Jump around the corner of the rocks to find a blue waypoint. Follow it around and up the cliffs, and you’ll find the Data Card in a hole in the cliff wall.
Kachirho – Kashyyk
From the entrance to Tree Vikkilynn, enter the large, cavernous pathway, making sure to stick to the middle route. Jump up onto the platform at the end of the path, follow the bridge up, then jump over to another platform on the tree. Around the outside rim are several more platforms with the Data Card found at the end of them.
Canto Bight – Cantonica
Go down the center street from the landing pad, then make a right down an alleyway when the road starts hanging left. Take a left, then keep going until you find another left turn. There should be several Grapple points sticking out of a wall. Follow the Grapple points, and you’ll eventually end up on a balcony where the Data Card is.
Great Temple – Yavin IV
You’ll need a Jedi or Sith for this one for their Force abilities. Enter the walkway in the landing pad area, and you should see the Data Card on top of a long beam near the ceiling. Use the Force to move a box to jump on top of a cargo lift underneath to be able to reach a Grapple point. Follow the points up to reach the Data Card.
Federal District – Coruscant
Go to the right of a building with a red door over in Senate View. There should be a plate on the ground you can break to go down a floor. Follow the walkway all the way around, and you should find the Data Card behind a shield locked with a simple pressure plate puzzle. Crack the puzzle, drop the shield, and take the Data Card.
Uscru District – Coruscant
Take the stairs down from the landing pad and look for the blue marker. Follow it down a few levels until you eventually come to an orange, cylindrical-shaped building. Jump into the building’s walkway and follow it around to the back to find the Data Card.
Jundland Wastes – Tatooine
You’re gonna need a Jedi or Sith for this one, both for their lightsaber and their Force abilities. Behind Ben Kenobi’s house, look for a wall with an unusual brown and tan pattern on the cliff face. Scale the wall with your lightsaber, then jump up the cliff with the handholds.
On your left, there should be a small crate on the ground; smash it open, and use the Force to stick in the cliff wall to create a series of swinging poles. Swing over the poles, then follow the path to the end to find another pole stuck in the ground, which you can also lift and attach with the Force. Hug the wall as you jump up the cliff, then follow it around until you come to a gap. Jump over the gap, and you’ll find the Data Card atop the far cliff.
Mos Espa – Tatooine
This is an easy one. Go through Mos Espa’s Civilian and Droid Quarters until you eventually find yourself in the Slave Quarters. Search the doors at ground level, and you should see one with a faint glow emanating from it. Look inside the door, and there’s your Data Card.
Mos Eisley – Tatooine
You’ll need another Force-user for this one. The Data Card is floating under an awning high above the Civilian Quarters. There should be some stacks of movable crates nearby, so just use the Force to move them underneath the awning and create a foothold. Jump up your makeshift foothold and grab the Data Card out of the air.
