While you may assume that sniping is a primarily solitary profession, it’s actually one of the best careers to have a reliable partner. After all, you can only look in a straight line, so you can never know when someone else is aiming at you, at least unless you have a buddy watching your back. Of course, this could be a little more complicated if your buddy isn’t using the same hardware as you. On that note, is Sniper Elite 5 cross platform?
Is Sniper Elite 5 Cross Platform?
Luckily, no matter where your buddies are connecting from or how they’re doing it, they’ll be ready and able to watch your back. Sniper Elite 5 features full cross platform play across all of its available platforms. As a reminder, those platforms include PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass, plus the Epic Games Store at some point in the future.
Whether you’re playing through the co-op campaign or one of the large-scale multiplayer modes, you can match natively with any other player on any other platform. The campaign also features drop-in functionality for both co-op, in case your buddy needs to take a break, and invasion, in which an enemy sniper will invade your campaign and attempt to take you out.
As a reminder, besides co-op and invasion in the campaign, Sniper Elite 5 features the following multiplayer game modes:
- Free-For-All: All players for themselves in a typical deathmatch
- Team Match: Teams of players compete to rack up the most kills
- Survival: Team up and survive endless waves of enemies for as long as possible
- Squad Match: Four teams of four gun for each other simultaneously
Sniper Elite 5 is out now on all of the aforementioned platforms. It’s the most fun you’ll have with a scope and a high-caliber rifle. Except maybe if you were sniping piñatas, that might be a little more fun.
