Is NBA 2K23 on PC still the Previous-Gen Version?

It’s about time PC players got an upgraded version of the game, but will they?

There’s arguably no title in gaming that ignores the requests and demands of PC users like NBA 2K. In particular over the course of the last few years, in which PC players have been receiving the newest NBA 2K titles but with the previous generations features and graphics.

After years of pleading with 2K Sports to upgrade these features for the PC version, gamers are dying to know if things have changed this time around with the upcoming release of NBA 2K23.

Here’s everything you need to know about whether or not NBA 2K23 on PC is still based on the previous-gen version of the game.

Is NBA 2K23 on PC still the Previous-Gen Version?

Unfortunately, it looks like 2K Sports is continuing this trend with NBA 2K23, as noted in the FAQs section of the 2K website. In which a user asked whether the company plans to release next-gen NBA 2K titles at a later date on PC and Switch. The developers had this to say;

”That’s a possibility that the team is passionate about and will continue to investigate what is possible for the franchise in the future. For now, the focus was on assuring NBA 2K23 was optimized for the new consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S), while also making sure the experience remains fresh and innovative for players on other platforms.”

NBA 2K is the longest-running basketball video game series to date, and one of the most renowned sports titles in the world. So, this will likely cause an uproar in the PC community, as they appear to be left in the dust, yet again. All we can hope for at this point is that things turn around in time for NBA 2K24.

That’s everything you need to know about NBA 2K23 still being based on the previous-gen version of the game for PC.
