Having issues with the Madden servers? Here’s how to check where the problem lies

In the gaming world, there’s not much worse than when your favorite game’s servers are down. In these cases, when you’re unable to access the one thing you’d like to spend your time doing, it can be rough. If you’ve been caught in an outage, there’s a fair chance it’ll last for several hours, unless you’re lucky. This becomes a significant problem when you have servers that can support a ton of people. But, thankfully, checking the EA server status is actually quite simple. Read on to learn how.

Is Madden Down? How To Check EA Server Status

Any game that features online gameplay and has a large following is subject to server disruptions, and Madden is no exception. So, let’s take a look at how to check whether the error is on your end or with EA and Madden.

These are the following reasons why Madden could be down and how to potentially fix it:

  1. Scheduled Maintenance Break – Typically, when Madden is down it’s because there’s a scheduled break to perform maintenance on the game. This can be verified by checking the EA Server Status from the official EA website. At the time of writing, there does appear to be an error with their online services. If the servers are down due to maintenance, all you can do is wait for EA to resolve the problem.
  2. Issue with system servers – If there’s no error message noting that the Madden servers are down on EA’s end, then chances are that the problem lies with the console you are playing on. If either the PC, Xbox or PlayStation servers are not functioning, then this could deny you access to several online game modes. Similarly, all you can do is check the Xbox servers or PlayStation servers, and wait for either to resolve the issue.
  3. Internet connection error – Finally, if both the EA and system servers are in good standing, then the issue could be with your internet connection. If this is the case, then the best thing to do is turn off and disconnect your internet router, wait five minutes and then reconnect everything. Then, just load up the game as usual and check to see if the online game modes work as usual.

I would also check the official Madden Twitter account or EA Help Twitter account for relevant information as well. Both are constantly being updated with news, so it’s a good place to check for any server errors. You can also see if other players are reporting similar issues, which will help you figure out whether the error lies with you or the game itself.
