Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Overwatch 2 has released an official but non-canon dating sim spin-off of their IP. You read that right. Developed by the very same smaller team who brought us Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim comes another meta romance spin-off of a beloved, existing property. Only this time, it’s free-to-play!
It is certainly capturing hearts even as we speak, but that’s undoubtedly due to Cupid Skinned Hanzo being our love mentor as we attempt to woo either Mercy or Genji. Here’s everything you need to know now that the game has launched.
Is LOVERWATCH Real? – Overwatch Dating Sim
LOVERWATCH is “a totally real, totally non-canon dating sim hosted by Cupid Hanzo!” You can play the game on your laptop or PC exclusively through a web client. The game can be found only at loverwatch.gg and is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. Each playthrough lasts for roughly thirty minutes, but be quick to experience it as many times as you can since it will be available to play from February 13 up until February 28 of this year.
Obviously, it is safe to say that there will be very little convincing needed for any dating sim fan to jump right into it. So for everyone else less inclined to explore it, Blizzard Entertainment has made it more than worthwhile for the sake of unlocking in-game goods within Overwatch 2. These consist of Valentine’s Day themed icons for Hanzo, Mercy and Genji as well as a Highlight Intro for Hanzo called “Cupid’s Kiss”. Players can therefore simply play through and complete LOVERWATCH to unlock a handful of cosmetics under the “Legendary Cupid Hanzo” bundle for free for a limited time instead of spending in-game coins or real money on them.
