The world of Palia is one that is both shrouded in mystery and drenched in cozy atmosphere. With the focal mechanics being on what is seen in the standard life sim game of Cooking, Mining, Fishing and Farming, Palia includes all of this and more with its questlines that pull at your curiosity and satisfy those seeking an adventure. Similar to Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, your life (although wonderful) is one that revolves around hard work paying off. Palia invites you into a world of building upon the skills that you learn and increasing your overall Level to then use what you have to customize and upgrade your home into the perfect sanctuary for yourself to return to after completing an adventure. This is Vincent’s guide on how to use Writs in Palia.
What are Writs Used For and How Does it Work in Palia?
A Writ is a consumable item in Palia that explains the process of being able to perform an action as authorized by an official and legal party. Whilst not directly used to enact changes for farming, writs are in place to demonstrate that an official agreement has been made for you to make changes to things such as being able to search homes (Warrant) or to bring others into court (Subpoena). In the case of Palia however, the Writ is used to expand on the land in which you are planting, growing and selling your crops. Similarly to getting started in Sims 4, you will have your set lot size which can be expanding upon further through the use of the Writ. But how do you get Writs?
For those looking to expand their plot of land, you will want to head to the City Hall Register to purchase a Writ. You are required to purchase x1 Writ every time you wish to make an expansion. The first will cost you x30 Renown whilst any future purchase will increase due to the increasing expansion of your land. Once a Writ is purchased, head back home and press ‘H’ in Build Mode to bring up the Home Plot screen.
Here you will see all squares available to purchase via the Writ which are highlighted with a padlock icon. Any that do not have the padlock icon are unable to be purchased until you have bought an adjacent square of land. Simply click and confirm which plot of land you wish to purchase using the Writ. Be sure that it is in your Inventory in order to use the Writ as it is a consumable. You will need to buy a total of 39 Writs in order to become the true Tenant you always wanted to be.
