Metal: Hellsinger marries rhythm games with FPS to create an unholy matrimony of beast-slaughtering insanity. Throughout the hells, more and more beasts and bosses await, as well as a fine selection of weapons. As you crash through the second hell, Stygia, you’ll encounter Cerberus and Orthrus, two pistols with incredible accuracy and range. Here is how to tame The Hounds and deliver sweet hell to your enemies in Metal: Hellsinger.
How to effectively use The Hounds in Metal: Hellsinger
The Hounds are two pistols with a quick fire rate and moderate damage. Their main benefit is the accuracy and range, as well as one of the best ultimates the game has to offer.
…A Sniping Machine Gun?
Hear me out. Although being pistols, The Hounds are so much more than that. Despite not boasting the most damage, these pistols offer great versatility.
The range makes these pistols effectively a sniper rifle, being able to (with a perfectly timed beat, of course) take out weaker enemies in one or two hits. And considering the rate of fire, that’s no time at all. A horde of Marionettes in the distance? Simply swat them out of the way.
But only that, the close-range capabilities mean that as long as you keep moving back, a wave of Marionettes can quickly be reduced to dust.
This weapons requires on-beat shots to truly be effective at felling enemies, as if you falter, they will get through to you and they will attack.
Speaking of damage, The Hounds aren’t the best at preparing Marionettes for slaughter, but the Cambions can be made vulnerable after merely two perfectly-timed hits, so if there are a couple of those guys hanging around, you can quickly get some good health drops.
The Hounds aren’t the best weapon of choice when dealing with strong, bulky opponents, but it becomes a useful asset at drilling down their health if they are at range, making them easy pickings for your other weapons.
Being useful in so many situations, The Hounds are a strong reliable option for any Hell you delve into

Echo of Death
This weapon’s ultimate is truly a great tool for any Hellsinger. It produces a shadow clone equipped with The Hounds that will pivot around and shoot any quarry that bounds into its path. Being invulnerable and with a moderate duration, this extra pair of pistols become incredibly useful in most torments, in any boss battle, and in any battle zone.
The clone won’t move around, so activate the ultimate somewhere with a good view of the battle field for maximum effectiveness. You’ll be grateful for the help.
So, there you have it. These pistols need you to be skilled in matching their rhythm, but they’ll pay back in kind when it comes to quick-draw close-quarters combat, or cutting down a horde further down the path.
