Though Overwatch 2 seemingly erased the original title from existence, there are many, many fans that crave the experience that the original one offered. Whether it was the organic way combat flowed, the lineup of heroes, or even just the feel, there was something special about it.

Luckily for those gamers though, Activision Blizzard has allowed for some remnants of the old title to make their way into Overwatch 2, specifically the Legacy Mode aim assists for one. So, if you’re trying to figure out how to use the Legacy mode aim assist in Overwatch 2, then we can help!

Legacy Mode aim assist is a fantastic setting that players on the controller can toggle on and off. It allows for your aim to be assisted in the way that it’ll automatically turn towards the target in its view, within reason.

This is great for players that maybe aren’t too quick or aren’t able to get a perfect shot on an enemy themselves. It can truly help in leveling out the playing field for new Overwatch 2 players as well. Let’s talk about how to toggle it on.

How to turn on Legacy mode aim assist in Overwatch 2

The very first thing that you’re going to want to do is hit your designated button to bring up the game’s Menu. From there, select Options. Once you’re on that screen, head to the Controls tab. You’ll land on the General category which is where you’ll want to be to turn on Legacy mode aim assist.

Under the Controller sub-category, go to the Advanced dropdown. Then scroll down to Aim Assist Legacy Mode and toggle it to On. Finally, just go ahead and begin playing. You should be able to tell the difference instantly.

You can also turn on Legacy Movement/Aim from that page too to make gameplay feel more in line with the original Overwatch as well.
