How to Upgrade Your Cauldron in Potion Permit
Your cauldron is one of the most heavily-used tools in Potion Permit. It’s what you will use to cook up different recipes and discover new remedies to heal the various ailments the townsfolk suffer from. That being said, you’ll be limited to a certain amount of ingredients unless you upgrade your cauldron throughout the game.

To upgrade your cauldron in Potion Permit, you will need to head to the Hearts and Sparks shop, which is on the far western edge of town. Here you can purchase upgrades for your cauldron, the first of which cost 1,000 gold, 250 wood, and 200 stone. Which will add one pip or an extra block that can be used. While you might not need this extra block early on in the game, having a few additional tiles can come in handy once you start to encounter more complex remedies.
As you progress through Potion Permit, you will eventually receive a visit from the Medical Association with new recipes for you to learn. This visit will also give you access to the research table in your home, as well as a mini-game where you will need to match the elemental symbols that appear on a small panel at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Once you’ve passed this test, a new recipe will be learned.
