Before learning how to upgrade the gauntlet, we’ll first need to acquire it. This can be done essentially passively, as when you start the Burning Shores DLC quest, you’ll be tasked with visiting an underground area. Here, you will find your new weapon, the Specter Gauntlet. Capable of firing homing projectiles at any enemies you tag with its designators. Now that you’ve obtained the gauntlet, you’ll need to progress through the DLC until you reach Fleet’s End.

In this settlement, there will be an NPC by the name of Otosu who will give you the “In His Wake” sidequest. By freeing the prisoners and completing this quest, you will pick up a Railgun Component on an unfortunate souls dead body. Go to any workbench once you have the component, and you will be able to upgrade the Specter Gauntlet. This upgrade adds a railgun component (shocker) to the gauntlet, allowing you to fire piercing charged shot at enemies. Additionally, any creature you tag with the designator while using this alternate mode will receive extra damage.
