20 Minutes Till Dawn has finally released in its Alpha state. Since May, 2022, Flanne has spent the past year regularly dishing out new updates for 20 Minutes Till Dawn, to keep their fans coming back for more of their roguelike content. With gameplay similar to the highly popular Vampire Survivors, 20 Minutes Till Dawn offers a different look and feel for this handheld roguelike game. The goal however between the two games is pretty much the same – survive against hoards of enemies using powers far beyond human capabilities and try to survive as the timer ticks away. With a focus being on surviving the night, 20 Minutes Till Dawn takes place in the darkest corner of our minds where the demons come out to play. But with a new weapon in hand – the Watering Gun, you may need to be hosed down after surviving the ordeal. This is Vincent’s guide on how to unlock the Watering Gun.
How to Unlock the Watering Gun in 20 Minutes Till Dawn
Much like Vampire Survivors, players can enter the arena based on their preference and weapon of choice. The Watering Gun, once unlocked, can be selected in the menu. With a default 18 damage, the Watering Gun has the ability to send out spores whilst also creating a Spore Flower that seemingly appears from nowhere, to deal damage to all that surrounds it. As the Watering Gun is one of the new weapons for Alpha v1.0, you will want to get your hands on it as soon as possible for its precision and damage spread across the spores that emit from the Gun.
Getting your hands on the Watering Gun is a two-step method. You must first summon the secret Tree Boss inside the Forest Stage. Secondly, you will need to defeat it in order to get the Gun as a weapon unlock. So, you will need to head to the Forest, find a tree to attack (it can be any) and keep at it whilst defending your position against the hoards of enemies. The goal is to destroy a tree that spawns with its own health bar that you will need to take out in order to summon the Tree Boss. Upon doing so, more trees will spawn and attack so be prepared for this ambush. You now need to defeat all tree spawns before the timer runs out. As the clock approaches 20 and all trees have been defeated, the secret Tree Boss will arrive to avenge the fallen.
By defeating the Tree Boss, the Watering Gun will be yours to utilize. Its power has untapped potential, allowing you to both place accuracy in your shots whilst also supporting yourself through the use of the spores that annihilate anything surrounding you. Simply focus on what is ahead of you, repeatedly shooting so that you can take advantage of the Gun’s spores. Nature will do the rest for you.
