How to Unlock Hunter Secondary Archetype in Remnant 2

Getting that critical damage in from a distance

Remnant 2 offers a unique mechanic in that players can combine two characters seamlessly together by keeping the appearance of your primary and replacing their unique skills with that of the secondary Archetype. If you are unhappy with your current Build or are looking to make a change based on your playstyle and whether your friends are rocking a composition that is detrimental against the godlike bosses in Remnant, you have multiple choices when picking your secondary Archetype. If you want to have the best of both worlds in dishing out heavy damage whilst being able to recover your teammates if any should fall in battle, the option is available by rocking two Archetypes in the game. This is Vincent’s guide on how to unlock the Hunter Archetype in Remnant 2.

How to Unlock Secondary Archetype – Hunter

In Remnant 2, players will have access to a total of 4 base Archetypes – Medic, Hunter, Handler and Challenger. Although the Gunslinger is an available Archetype in the game for those who pre-ordered, you will find that this is only exclusive to that group of players. But in choosing between the 4 Archetypes after completing the Tutorial, you can actually find specific items needed to craft Engrams with for the same Archetypes or another, secret set of Classes that can be switched out. In order to switch out Archetypes however, players need to get the specific Engram needed for that Class. For a full guide on Engrams, see here.

Engrams are purchasable inside Ward 13. Acting as a hub of Vendors, players can converse with each Merchant the roam around the sector, each providing goods to sell and a certain, rare item that does not match the rest of the store’s inventory. This unique item is crucial to Archetypes but as each item is different, they cater towards the unlocking of a specific Class. For those trying to unlock the Hunter Archetype after selecting one of the other 3 Archetypes at the beginning of the game, be sure to visit Brabus, who will offer the Rusty Medal.

After purchasing the Rusty Medal for 1500 Scraps, you need to go to the east side of the Ward upon exiting the Vendor sector. You need to climb the staircase of the Docks leading towards a Crane Container where Wallace can be found. He will sell you the Rusty Medal Engram but only if you have purchased it from Brabus before conversing with him. This will cost you another 1000 Scraps, alongside 10 Lumenite Crystals. If you have not bought the unique item needed for the specific Archetype you want to switch to (in this case, the Rusty Medal), you will not see the Hunter Engram in Wallace’s shop.

How to Switch to Hunter in Remnant 2

With the Rusty Medal Engram in hand, go to your Character Menu and hover over the Prime Archetype Icon located at the top left-hand side of this Menu screen. The Hunter Archetype will show here which you can switch to whenever you want, providing you with new Perks to work with alongside your primary Archetype. The main difference however is that the Prime Perk will change from your primary Archetype and to your secondary if you switch over. Although your appearance will stay with same to your primary Archetype, the Prime Perk will stay as the Hunter.

We hope this guide proved useful to those looking to get the Hunter Perks for their Secondary Archetype. For more on the latest guides, be sure to check out the newest video game coverage here. Thank you for reading this guide.
