Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is now available on Nintendo Switch. There are many unlockable characters throughout the story, and they are all obtained through different means. There are seventeen unlockable characters in total in Hyrule Warrior: Age of Calamity. You can unlock most of them by playing through the story like normal. However, a few characters require going back and completing side quests that unlock as you progress through the main questline.

How to unlock every character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Here’s how to unlock every character in Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity:

  • Link: Complete the first level of Chapter 1, “The Battle of Hyrule Field.”
    • You can find both two-handed weapons (Soldier’s Spear and Iron Sledgehammer) at any point after completing Chapter 1. They are weapon drops
  • Impa: Computer the first level of Chapter 1, “The Battle of Hyrule Field.”
  • Zelda: Complete the second level of Chapter 1, “Road to the Ancient Lab.”
  • Mipha: Complete the first level in Chapter 2, “Mipha, the Zora Princess.”
  • Daruk: Complete the second level in Chapter 2, “Daruk, the Goron Hero.”
  • Revali: Complete the third level in Chapter 2, “Revali, the Rito Warrior.”
  • Urbosa: Complete the fourth level in Chapter 2, “Urbosa, the Gerudo Chief.”
  • Hestu: Found in the first level of Chapter 3, “Freeing Korok Forest.”
    • Must unlock “Great Fairies” and “Trial of the Ancients,” defeating Monk Maz Koshia in a duel.
  • Sidon: Complete the second level in Chapter 5, “Water and Fire.”
  • Yunobo: Complete the second level in Chapter 5, “Water and Fire.”
  • Teba: Complete the third level in Chapter 5, “Air and Lightning.”
  • Riju: Complete the third level in Chapter 5, “Air and Lightning.”
  • Zelda (Bow of Light): Complete the second level of Chapter 6, “Each Step Like Thunder.”
  • Master Kohga: Complete the second level of Chapter 6, “Each Step Like Thunder.”
  • King Rhoam: Complete the third level of Chapter 7, “The Great Plateau.”
  • Terrako: Complete the entire story, and finish the side quests entitled “Terrako’s Return.”
