Part of what makes the Straw Hat Pirates such a powerful crew is the deep level of trust and understanding they have with one another. They are all highly aware of each other’s strengths and abilities, allowing them to improvise cooperative attacks and strategies on the fly. In One Piece Odyssey, this manifests in the form of Bond Arts. Here’s how to unlock and use Bond Arts in One Piece Odyssey.

How to Unlock and Use Bond Arts in One Piece Odyssey

Bond Arts are a special type of technique your party members can use in One Piece Odyssey, in which they team up to deliver powerful attacks and useful abilities. Bond Arts require specific members of the crew to be present on the field, and can only be used when everyone is available and active. Additionally, you need a sufficient Bond Level to unleash them.

Your party’s Bond level is tracked by a meter that you can check in the Bond Arts menu during a fight. Using Bond Arts consumes levels from the meter, but you can replenish the meter by taking cooperative actions in a fight, including:

  • Jumping to a different area to help a party member
  • Clearing enemies out of another party member’s area
  • Using healing items and abilities
  • Having multiple party members teaming up on the same enemy

Unlocking Bond Arts

Bond Arts are first unlocked in Alabasta’s Memoria. In a scripted segment, Usopp, Zoro, and Chopper will enter a pocket realm called a Hysteria, where they’ll engage in a little self-contained quest. Upon completion of this quest, you’ll unlock the Bond Art, Cloven Tiger Trap Roseo Pound, for those three, as well as the Bond Art, Bond Move, for every other party member. Bond Move lets you consume a level of the Bond Meter to move a character to any other area on the field and attack an enemy, even if they’re blocked by enemies.

Following that, more portals to Hysteria will gradually crop up in exploration areas around the game. As is the case with the first one, only certain characters can enter a Hysteria; you’ll be informed who can and can’t go at the entrance. If you can complete the Hysteria’s quest, you’ll unlock a new Bond Art for the party members that were involved.

Whenever you’re in a pinch in a fight, remember your Bond Arts. Your teammates have your back, so don’t forget about them!
