Missions are selected after you choose or create a new prospect inside Icarus. A prospect is basically your character, which you can design and customize to your liking. After choosing your character, you will be sent to the Mission Select screen. Each mission typically has a few objectives to complete, including things like recon, research, scanning areas, retrieving device components, and more. So, after you complete your objectives, how do you turn in your mission in Icarus?

How to Turn In Your Mission in Icarus

To turn in your mission in Icarus, you need to return to your dropship, press E to interact with it, and click on Return to Station. After interacting with the dropship, you’ll be shown a screen with your inventory, along with five slots for dropship cargo, which you can place for delivery to the Orbital Station.

After returning to your Orbital Station, note that all your in-game structures, items, and resources will be gone. Your prospect’s progress stays intact, meaning you maintain your levels and skills. However, this is a session-based survival game, so you’re basically completely wiped in terms of buildings, items, and resources from mission to mission.

If you prefer to play a more sandbox-style mode, you can go to the main menu and choose Outposts. The Outposts mode is a sandbox world where there are no mission timers, so you can build and play freely however you want. Remember, though, that mission-based gameplay has time limits, and you do not maintain all your hard-earned items from mission to mission.
