Having companions join you on your open world adventures is always a positive. In Smalland, a game combining the likes of Grounded and Valheim, the player is tasked with exploring the Land of the Small. From crafting armor, to building encampments, this oversized world is your oyster. Provided that you keep an eye out for the many dangerous creatures roaming the lands. However, not all of these creatures will want to attack you. Some might even be useful friends that can help you along your journey. Let’s embark and figure out how to tame the Ladybug in Smalland: Survive the Wilds.
How to Tame the Ladybug in Smalland: Survive the Wilds
Throughout your time playing Smalland, you’ll wind up seeing a plethora of ladybugs all over the place. They are harmless and won’t be aggressive toward the player, but sadly, you’ll have to be a bit aggressive to them if you want to tame one. But there are a few things you’ll need before you are able to approach a ladybug.

In order to tame a ladybug, you’ll need to go ahead and craft a Ladybug Travel Kit. This, like many other things in Smalland, require a workbench for you to craft it at. You’ll need to acquire 3 edible mushrooms, 2 nectar, and 5 fiber to craft the travel kit for your soon to be ladybug friend. The mushrooms and fiber are fairly abundant all across the map, however nectar only shows up in certain places. Specifically, you can obtain nectar by harvesting Poppies. These are in certain areas of the map and besides them being a tall big red flower, you’ll know you’re around some of these flowers if you come across an abundance of bees.
After crafting your travel kit, find any random ladybug roaming around the wild. Now here comes the sad part (if you’re not a fan of attacking defenseless creatures), you’ll need to whack the ladybug with a weak weapon in order to lower it’s health. Once it’s health is low enough, when you get close to it, you will have a prompt to press ‘F’ to tame. If you have the travel kit, the ladybug will now be sporting some fancy bags on the side of it, and you will have successfully tamed a ladybug. It will follow you wherever you go, allowing you to have extra storage, and an extra friend during your adventures.
