Inside the Backrooms is a fantastic backrooms horror game where players must solve puzzles whilst surviving the many entities that prowl around. As you enter the Sewer Rooms, you will be met with not only the stench, but the sight of the behemoth rats – Entity #25. Prevalent throughout the Sewer Rooms, you had better learn to evade them, else your run will be littered with death. Here is how to survive Entity #25 in the Sewer Rooms.
How to get past Entity #25 in Inside the Backrooms
Entity #25 is inspired by the community-created ‘Death Rat’, also labelled under ‘Entity #25’. However, the rats that appear in the game are much larger, much grizzlier, and much more dangerous. Skulking the halls of the Sewer Rooms, there are four of the giant rodents, and all of them are formidable.
The fact file in the room before the sewers really open up highlight their sensitivity to sound, and the need to be quiet. But how far does their hearing range to?
Behaviour
The Death Rats will stick to the sewage when walking around, taking corners or freezing occasionally. They have nothing to do with the arm creatures that roam the waters also. You may see them occasionally dashing through the sewers. This does not necessarily mean they are after you, they may simply be running around. Due to being blind, they will never ‘spot’ you.
When alerted by your sound, they will dash to the location where it came from. When locating a player-made sound, they may run up any stairs to run on the pathways adjacent to the sewage. They will sniff around for a few seconds before resuming their walk in the water. They cannot access any rooms, so they are a safe spot to escape into.
Upon contact with Entity #25, they will immediately pounce on the player and will kill them.
Aversion
To avoid Entity #25, the player need only to stay still when they pass. If there is a Death Rat approaching, freeze and allow it to walk past. Even if you are on the pathway, you must stay still.

If a Death Rat is dashing towards your location, sprint into a room or simply far away. You will get too far for the Death Rat to know where you are when it stops to sniff around.
You can still sprint, however, just make sure that a Death Rat is not too close. You will not know if one is racing towards you until it pounces on you.
