Oh yes, I’m a sucker for a good action rogue-lite time. And Game Smithing Limited’s Soulstone Survivor is apparently doing the talking. Although it being in its early access stage, it has already garnered quite a bunch of followers and has been very well received. Nowadays, having an Early Access game and being able to do this good is, at least, rare. So kudos to you developers, you have yourself a diamond in the rough (I expect the full diamond when everything on your development roadmap is completed and release). Having said that, alongside the standard mode, the developers have included a game called Endless Cycle Mode which is, in fact, endless. With a promise to be a challenging mode, here is how to survive Endless Cycle Mode in Soulstone Survivors.
How to Survive Endless Cycle Mode in Soulstone Survivors
So, if you have experience with action games, there are very few instances in which you will be able to defeat all enemies at once without caring about your well-being. In this game, specially in this mode, you will have to apply several types of strategies in order to survive. And though it is highly improbable you will be able to endlessly play the game, here are a couple tips in order to survive Endless Cycle Mode in Soulstone Survivors.
- Move! Remaining in the same place is always a recipe for disaster in any game, specially in an action rogue-lite.
- Upgrade the Skill Tree. Well, a rogue-lite is not a rogue-lite with some type of in-game upgrade mechanic. Be sure to constantly upgrade your skills, specially the dash related ones to keep your mobility and the health regeneration ones as well.
- Make use of the Blacksmith. Better weapons mean more damage. More damage means easier enemies. Easier enemies mean more chance for survival.
- Get rid of screen clutter. Having a bunch of numbers and other stuff in your screen can sometimes be, let’s say, overwhelming. So for your survival, and mental state, disable parameters like weapon effects, damage numbers and enemy health bars. A cleaner screen means less chance of random projectiles hitting you without you noticing.
Note: you will have to complete each arena in under 14 minutes, otherwise you won’t be able to continue with the mode.
If you follow these tips, you will be able to survive just a little shy of forever. So go ahead and tackle Soulstone Survivors, you will find an endless stream of fun!
