How to Start the Guardian Games in Destiny 2

To start the Guardian Games in Destiny 2, you will need to first speak with Zavala in the Tower. Pull up your map and check the top left corner to find the Guardian Games milestone. Commander Zavala is at his usual location, so head on over, speak with him, and pick your damage type. After speaking with Zavala, you need to talk to Eva Levante to acquire the Medal Case and quest. After that’s done, you can open up your Quests tab and find The Games Begin, which reads:

“Equip your Guardian Games Class item. Then collect Laurels by defeating mini-bosses or lesser enemies with your Grenades, Melee attacks, or Supers. You have a chance to earn bonus progress when you pick up Laurels that match your class. The new Guardian Games Strike Playlist is a great place to start.”

You will have to earn 100 Laurels, which requires you to have your Class item equipped. Try Altars for a quick way to grind some Laurels, as the bosses drop five Laurels each, and you can spam your abilities at the orbs. Your Medal Case tracks all of your Laurels earned, as does the individual quest. After that’s done, you’ll have to return to the Tower and purchase a Contender Card. You can pick Strike, Crucible, or Gambit to complete this one, and you’ll see a list of Seasonal Challenges available.
