How to Start a Romance in Potion Permit

Love is in the air

One of the cooler features in Potion Permit is the “unrestricted by gender” romances you can engage in. That’s right, no matter how you make your character look, whatever name or gender you make them, you can woo male or female characters. The real question is though, how do you get there? Not every character you can romance and start a relationship. There is also the issue of making sure you are in a relationship and what that entails. Here’s how you can start your romantic relationship in Potion Permit.

Choosing a Partner

You are probably at least aware that every villager in the town of Moonbury has an affinity meter and you can gain friendship with them over time. Some have an extra affinity bar than others. Those are your romantic options. For details on who those lucky men and women are, you can read in more detail here. You have six options, three male and three female.

Our first advice is to pick who you fancy the most and focus on filling up their affinity bar the fastest and earliest. You don’t have to necessarily get their meter the highest for them to be your romance choice, but before this next part here is a bit of warning. You can only have one romantic partner and you can’t change it once you start dating. Make sure you’ve chosen the one you want the most.

Starting a Relationship

Once you’ve chosen your beau it’s time to make things official. You have to max out their third affinity meter first. Once you’ve maxed it out by completing all three character side stories with them, a new announcement on the town bulletin board will pop up. Nova, the owner of the tailor shop will have a new item for you to buy, a Moon Brooch.

A Moon Brooch will cost you FIVE Moon Cloves. Yup, so you better save up and not just give away those Cloves for friendship all the time. Horde just a little to save up for your special someone. Once you have the brooch, once again be quite sure to whom you’re offering it to.

Offer the brooch to your darling and a new option icon will appear on them. Click the clinking glasses icon and start cute and charming dating sequences. These are just for aesthetic and watchability, there seems to be no further end result for that and you can go on a date with your partner once a day as much as you like.
