How to Start a New Settlement in Farthest Frontier

Some important details before you jump into a new game.

Farthest Frontier is a medieval survival city builder where you convert a non productive land into a hustling town. However, it’s not the easiest game to play, especially for players who are new to this genre. In this guide, we will help you kick start your new settlement to make things easier for you.

How to Start a New Settlement in Farthest Frontier

To start a new settlement, click on the “New Settlement” option on the main menu. You will see difficulty setting on your screen. Let’s see what they offer.

  • Pioneer – Easy difficulty settings for new comers.
  • Trailblazer – Normal difficulty settings and a challenging.
  • Vanquisher – This one is the hardest difficulty settings, best for people who are expert at the game.

In addition to the difficulty settings, you will find terrain and map size settings. You can leave them as is or tinker with the settings according to your preferences.

Once you are done with basic settings, head over to the “Advanced Settings” section in Farthest Frontier.

Map Seed helps generate a unique code for your map. The code will help you share your map with other players in the game.

Extra Resources will decide how much resources you can allocate when starting the game. Here are the default resource values according to game difficulty:

Pioneer

  • 12 Villagers
  • 16 Months of Food
  • 5 Weapons
  • 4 Bows
  • 150 Arrows
  • 30 Tools

Trailblazer

  • 12 Villagers
  • 9 Months of Food
  • 5 Weapons
  • 3 Bows
  • 100 Arrows
  • 20 Tools

Vanquisher

  • 10 VIllagers
  • 4 Months of Food
  • 4 Weapons
  • 3 Bows
  • 80 Arrows
  • 15 Tools

Maladies determines the rate at which diseases spread in your town.

  • Pioneer – Negative 60% probability for disease to spread.
  • Trailblazer – Negative 30% probability for disease to spread.
  • Vanquisher – No reduction in chance of disease spreading.

Wildlife will determine the spawn rate of animals. Higher difficulty will present more dangerous animals like Bears and Wolves in Farthest Frontier.

Raiders settings will set the frequency of army attacks and raids on your town.

Terrain settings will help you choose different variety of land and water bodies. It determines your region. You will see Arid Highlands, Alpine Valleys, Lowland Lakes, Plains and Random as options for this setting.

Lowland Lakes is the best settings for beginners as it offers a good mix of every resource.

Settlement Name will determine the name of your town. The Map Size settings will control the size of the map offering small, medium and large sizes.

The Pacifist Mode toggle will disable dangerous animals, armies and raiders.
