How to Solve Mr. K’s Mystery in River City Girls 2

Don your detective fedora.

For you younglings out there, “noir” is a genre of film that was popular in the 40s and 50s. It was all about smokey, morally-ambiguous stories, with a particular emphasis on detectives and mysteries. I bring this up because there’s a noir-style mystery in River City Girls 2 that needs solving. Here’s how to solve Mr. K’s mystery in River City Girls 2.

How to Solve Mr. K’s Mystery in River City Girls 2

When you first enter River City High School after obtaining three of the yakuza’s emblems in River City Girls 2, you’ll receive a text message from the school’s principal. Rather than trying to weed out the yakuza presence in the school, he’s a bit preoccupied with solving a “mystery.” The principal, Mr. K, gives you the deets when you visit him in his office (lit in black-and-white noir stylings): you need to uncover four clues hidden around the school to solve the mystery.

After you accept his quest, whenever you visit a scene in the school that contains a clue, it’ll be cast in the same black-and-white ambiance as Mr. K’s office. The four locations you need to check are:

  • Checkpoint Screening
  • School Gym
  • Teacher’s Break Room
  • Detention

Finding the Clues

When you enter a black-and-white room, you’ll notice a few crumpled papers scattered here and there. They’re denoted by a magnifying glass symbol when you stand over them, so just grab every single scrap you find to complete that room’s clue. When the clue is complete, the black-and-white ambiance will go away to indicate you’re done.

The majority of clue scraps are in plain sight, but every mystery room has at least one clue that’s hidden in a slightly more obtuse place.

  • Detention has a clue scrap hidden on top of the upper cage.
  • The Teacher’s Break Room has a clue scrap hidden on top of the shelves in the background, and another inside the refrigerator.
  • The School Gym has a clue scrap hidden on the bleachers on the top-right, accessible via a climbing rope.
  • The Checkpoint Screening has a clue scrap hidden on top of the metal shelves on the left side of the metal detectors.

Once you’ve obtained all the clues, return to Mr. K to solve the mystery, which is… nothing. There wasn’t actually a mystery, he just wanted to “train” kids to look for clues. Silly, but you still get your usual cash and XP reward, plus the Love Letter accessory, which increases damage done to male enemies.
