How do the PROJECT: PLAYTIME Puzzles Work?

The core gameplay is for the Specialists to work as a team, either by distracting the Monster as others attempt to solve puzzles or by playing patiently and strategically. Puzzles are placed around the factory floors, as Puzzle Pillars. All 3 Puzzles can be found on each Puzzle Pillar. There are a total of 6 Puzzles that need completing to finish the toy making process. A toy part is collected once a Puzzle Pillar is completed, this is done by solving all 3 puzzles on the pillar.

To try a puzzle, players must use one of the hands on their GrabPack to initiate the Puzzle. Use left- or right-click on the mouse to start the puzzle on the pillar.

Puzzle 1: Piano

The first and easiest puzzle to solve is the Piano Puzzle. This is a small Keyboard on the Piano that will play a sequence of 5. The keys are divided into 5 colours: Blue, Green, Yellow, Red and Purple. Players will be given the sequence one at a time with every colour inputted into the sequence added into the next. For example:

  • First round: Blue
  • Second round: Blue, Yellow
  • Third round: Blue, Yellow, Blue
  • Fourth round: Blue, Yellow, Blue, Blue
  • Fifth round: Blue, Yellow, Blue, Blue, Red

Inputting these sequences in correctly will complete the puzzle. The keyboard will remain lit to indicate that the puzzle is complete should you return to the same pillar at a later point in the game. If you input the sequence wrong you will have to start again. By upgrading the Master Pianist upgrade, players will have to complete fewer pattern sequences, making it a quicker puzzle to complete.

Although this is the easiest puzzle to complete, it is still rather slow in its completion. This is why we recommend players to upgrade the specific Perk when tackling this puzzle. It will help out you and your teammates massively. With this Perk you can focus on completing all of these PROJECT: PLAYTIME puzzles on the pillars.

Puzzle 2: Reflex

The next puzzle is the Reflex Puzzle. This focusses on the reaction time of the players. The puzzle appears as a circle with 6 buttons. You have approximately one second to hit the button which lights up. After you successfully hit the button, another button will light up. We recommend that you watch the centre of the circle. As you have to be quick on this one, it is the fastest Puzzle to complete. However, you can easily get too focussed and not hear the Monster coming up behind you. There is a total of 10 buttons you will need to push here, with quick reactions you can complete this Reflex Puzzle with ease. However, keep in mind that should you press the wrong button or run out of time to react, you will have to restart the puzzle.

Puzzle 3: Memory

The final puzzle is the hardest in the game. This is the Memory Puzzle. What you need to do here is simple but hard to execute. Especially in the tense circumstances where panicking comes naturally in a horror environment. The Memory Puzzle is a grid of 17 buttons. The players is shown a series of 10 possible patterns being lit up in front of them. The final eleventh pattern which will flash twice is the one you must memorise and copy. You are not timed on inputting the pattern so do not panic or rush this puzzle. After seeing the final pattern, input it in pressing the correct buttons of the pattern.

There are a total of 3 patterns to input in correctly. This is the most time consuming and difficult puzzle to complete in PROJECT: PLAYTIME. We 100% recommend that if players are planning on upgrading their Perks that they focus their Toy Tickets in the Perk, Genius. This will extend the duration of the final pattern staying lit on the pillar. Giving you longer time to memorise it. We also recommend standing in a position further away from the pillar. This is so you can easily see the entire pillar and have easy moveability to evade the monster should they try to capture you in this puzzle.

Tips for Completing PROJECT: PLAYTIME Puzzles

We recommend that Specialists play with patience in this game. The natural response is to try to complete a pillar in one go. Invest time into solving one part of the pillar and move on after completion. Increasing your odds of survival. Avoid the line of sight of the monsters. The only time a player should hover around a Puzzle Pillar is if you know that the monster is distracted by your teammates as bait or have seen that the monster is on the other side of the map. Look out for visual signs of your teammates being downed by the monster.
