The long-awaited third entry for the Outlast series is approaching closer and closer. As one of the pillars of modern survival horror titles, fans have been eagerly waiting for this entry, titled The Outlast Trials, as it yet again introduces mechanics to shake up and push the genre forward. With jumpscares and great atmospheres to boot, this next installment could prove to be the best one yet.
During the Gamescom 2022 Opening Night Stream, the game’s publisher and developer, Red Barrels revealed gameplay footage of The Outlast Trials, showing off a lot of what players can expect in terms of gameplay this time around. Instead of being an in-your-face story, this one seems to go the route of the Saw franchise, pitting players against each other in a life-threatening game that, at times, has players working together to achieve a common goal.
It’ll be interesting to see how it’s pulled off in the final product. But, for those curious about how the game feels to play, you may have a chance to test it out for yourself, before most other players.
How to Sign Up for Outlast Trials Closed Beta
Currently, players can begin to sign up to be part of The Outlast Trials beta once it becomes available.
- To sign up for The Outlast Trials beta, boot up Steam.
- Then head to The Outlast Trials Steam page.
- Scroll down and click the green “Request Access” button.
- Once clicked, you’ll receive a prompt telling you that you’ve successfully signed up for the beta.
- If selected, you’ll receive an email once the beta is live containing your invitation.
As it currently stands, there is no set date for when The Outlast Trials is actually going to launch. Additionally, there’s also no estimated time of arrival for the beta either. So it’s best to keep an eye out on your email closely and monitor any news on Gamer Journalist regarding the game, as we’ll be sure to cover it as new updates are revealed.
Beta invitations are limited, so you can’t always assume that requesting access means that you’re guaranteed a spot when the beta indeed goes live. Though, it’s worth mentioning that betas like this in the past have given quite a few players access to this type of content. Just cross those fingers and watch out for that email.
But that’s all there is to sign up for The Outlast Trials beta. Unfortunately, consoles don’t have an option for this yet, but at least PC players can begin to request access to it.
