Potionomics will keep you busy in learning to run a potions shop, improve your haggling, and compete and beat out the competition in potion brewing contests. To successfully do all this and get your uncle’s debt under control and finally sorted out, players will have to bond with the many lovable NPCs of the game. Doing so will reward you in a number of ways, such as additional dialogue, new events, even more cards added to your deck and the prospect of romancing them. Depending on what out of the relationship(s) that is.
Character Romance Guide
By simply bonding with these characters, the option of romancing them is a possibility. There are 9 characters you can become exclusive with, namely:
- The ingredients salesperson, Quinn (they/them) – unlocked after day 1
- The rookie hero, Mint (she/her) – unlocked after day 2
- The Hero Guild’s administrator, Baptiste (he/him) – unlocked after unlocking Mint
- The blacksmith, Muktuk (he/him) – unlocked after day 3
- The first rival and enchantress, Roxanne (she/her) – unlocked after defeating her in her Boss/Potion Contest stage
- The craftswoman, Saffron (she/her) – unlocked after day 7
- The marketer, Luna (she/her) – unlocked after day 13
- The bard hero, Xidriel (she/her) – unlocked after day 13 (requires a Greater Mana potion to be on hand)
- The rival and survivalist hero, Corsac (he/him) – unlocked after defeating him in his Boss/Potion Contest stage
To have the best chance of successfully romancing your character of choice, it’s wise to flirt with everyone that you are interested in from the beginning. This tends to always be the bottom choice whenever selectable dialogue appears during events with said character. You will know if it has the right effect on them when their icon appears that illustrates a heart rather than sparkles.
The characters’ models also tend to blush whenever you say the most heart swelling remark. If you have not selected correctly, you can simply backtrack and reload, although missing out on a few flirty comments will not mean the end of the world. You will still encounter the choice of either rejecting or accepting a romanceable characters’ affections once the right time hits.
How to Romance Every Character in Potionomics
Do keep in mind that you can only hook up with one character in any single playthrough. You will be rejecting the others once you have agreed on whose relationship to make exclusive with Sylvia. Also remember to be flirtatious and strike when the iron is hot at rank 7 specifically. Romancing in the game as of now does not include any change to its ending, and the romancing aspect itself is completely optional.
Finally, remember to gift the characters’ most loved items. This means for quicker progression of bonding. Depending on your preferences, this is important for both deck building in unlocking more helpful cards and in seeing your love come to fruition. Since players will only be able to gift a character once each day, you can speed up the process by choosing to hang out with said character when travelling.
Also, Corsac will introduce a new system for players to utilise, that of Gardening with slime bulbs. These cute, little guys can and will reward you with additional ingredients by feeding them item types they have a preference for. Accumulate plenty of gift worthy items of higher quality to see romance blossoming even sooner!
