How to Replay Boss Fights in Cult of the Lamb

Boss Rush!!

There’s admittedly not a whole lot to do in the Cult of the Lamb post-game. This isn’t the biggest deal, as the main story itself is jam-packed with content. But, for those of us who want to continue raising the cult in the aftermath of the final boss battle, what kinds of things can you do? Well, there are a couple of things, and one of them involves testing your newfound, deific, strength against a set of familiar foes.

Can You Fight the Bishops Again in Cult of the Lamb?

Yes! In the aftermath of each Bishop fight, you can definitely fight them again — if you want to, anyways. If you return to a Bishop’s domain after defeating them, you’ll be told that enemies have grown stronger. You’ll also be informed that you can continue fighting ad infinitum with bonus rewards. But, there’s also a new feature that can be accessed in a most unexpected way.

If you head for an area marked by an upside-down cross, you’ll usually see a monument to the Bishop. You’ll see a red ‘X’ on the statue if said Bishop has already been exterminated. If you attack — and destroy — the visage, a portal will open leading to the boss arena. But, if you were expecting the Bishop re-run to be stronger, that’s not necessarily the case. In fact, they’re basically the same battle you’ve already had.

Who are the Witnesses?

After defeating each Bishop, a new mini-boss will take their place. These mini-bosses, dubbed ‘witnesses,’ live in the final area of the region, where you would ordinarily find the Bishop. They’re not that difficult, but they can provide a much needed challenge. Defeating these witnesses will net you a new item, the ‘Eye of the Witness,’ which can be traded to Plimbo at the Smuggler’s Sanctuary to earn their loyalty.
