How to Remove Facehuggers in Aliens: Dark Descent

As more and more questions are being asked regarding extra-terrestrial life on Earth, we sincerely hope that the answer does not resemble that of HR Giger’s Facehugger. These truly terrifying creatures have a singular purpose – to lay their eggs inside any mammal for their offspring to sprout from the belly like a flower blossoming. With a process being both incredibly invasive and completely non-consensual, the Facehuggers in Alien mark the beginning of the end for any naïve Space Marine. Chaos rains as these make their entrance in Aliens: Dark Descent, causing panic and silly mistakes resulting in lives being lost. With the Facehuggers swarming Planet Lethe, the only option is to fight for survival in these trying times. This is Vincent’s guide on how to remove the Facehugger in Aliens: Dark Descent.

How to Remove the Facehugger Before it is too Late in Aliens: Dark Descent

Although the Facehugger is known to become unbeatable and killable once on the face of a Marine where the victim and onlookers simply have to wait until the process has finished, otherwise the Marine could die as a result to their acidic blood. However, with the knowledge of the Xenomorphs existence, the Commander and her Squad bring an Extraction Device to stop the Facehugger from implantation. But how do we get our hands on one of them? The fastest way of getting the Extraction Device in Aliens: Dark Descent is to complete the second official Mission. Your first real Mission takes place in Dead Hills where you need to take your Squad and rescue Colonists whilst managing the alien threats inside. As days pass, you will return to Dead Hills to continue the search for survivors whilst clearing the Colony of infestation before it gets too dangerous to head inside.

When you head to Dead Hills for the second time, you and your Squad begin investigating the Mines. This is where you will come face-to-face with the Alien Queen. Before locating the Queen however, a pop-up window will appear on whether or not you wish to continue as a difficult threat lies beyond the locked door in front of you. The best way to deal with the Queen is to pummel bullets into her whilst backing yourself and the Squad into the entrance corridor you came from. This will keep your Party Members at a safe enough distance which dealing damage. You should also utilize Explosives and Flamethrowers (Incinerate) to deal a lot of damage to the Queen whilst keeper a good distance between the two of you.

Where to Unlock the Extraction Device

Now that you have defeated the Alien Queen return to the Abandoned Base, Otago after you have finished exploring the Mines. Go straight to the Laboratory where the Extraction Device will become available to study. It costs a total of x10 Xenosamples to initiate the study. Upon unlocking the Device, you will need to spend a total of x2 Xenosamples for every Mission you head into if you want the Device with you for your Squad. This is a great piece of equipment to take with you as you can allow your Squad to move faster, saving time and getting through Missions quicker at the expense of using the Device to save any Marines that get embraced by the Facehugger.
