IllFOnic’s long-awaited Ghostbustin title, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is here and ready to serve up some haunts just in time for Halloween! Offering players the most in-depth Ghostbusters experience to date, IllFonic gives players the tools they need to create immersive, fun asymmetrical multiplayer matches alone, with random folks online, and even with their best pals.
But if you’re just starting out, chances are you’re not too familiar with all of the different things that the game throws your way in the beginning. Have no fear though, as we know exactly what you need to do if you’re looking to play Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed with friends! Let’s dive right into it!
How to Play with Friends in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed
If you’re looking to play Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed with your friends, it’s actually an extremely easy process, though there are some steps you’ll have to do in order to get things started, especially if you’re just starting out on your Ghost-busting journey.
Firstly, you’ll need to start the game and finish the entire tutorial section of the game which includes meeting the core Ghostbuster members, getting familiar with the tech, customizing your Ghostbuster, and other gameplay mechanics, as well as even capturing your very first ghost.
Once you’ve gotten all of that out of the way, you can actually begin to invite friends to games. Just head to the main floor of the Firehouse and to the desk with the bright green lamp on it. This desk is used specifically to invite friends to your lobby.

You can also do the same via the main menu when booting up the game as well as the pause menu while in-game.
You’ll be able to invite up to 4 friends, resulting in 4 of you playing as Ghostbusters and 1 playing as a Ghost. Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashe allows you to invite friends across your own platform of choice or via any others through cross-play.
You’ll be able to swap between the two choices via in-game tabs, and toggle through different filters that show all of your friends, friends that are just online, and friends that are actually in-game. It’s worth noting that those playing cross-play will need to be friends via Epic Games to see each other in these lists.
Once you’ve sent them invites, it’s just a game of waiting until they accept and start loading into your lobby. You’ll then be able to select a job from the main desk at the back and begin playing!
