Amanda the Adventurer is a unique short Horror Game experienced. Being the full release debut game for MANGLEDmaw Games, now a Developer I am adding onto my list of ones to watch out for, Amanda the Adventurer is a fantastic Horror Game that will leave you with many questions, interpretations and overall disturbed by the time the credits roll (for the fifth time in total). The narrative is gripping, as you play as Riley who is performing her own investigation into these mysterious Tapes that are clearly cursed in some way. Although she did not want to follow her Aunt Kate’s footsteps in investigating this bizarre and twisted world inside a TV Set, she is pulled into the Apple’s Core of disturbing conspiracy about a Kid’s Show that really nails what it means to truly hold their viewers attention.
Your goal in Amanda the Adventurer is to piece together as much information as possible about the TV Show. Find out what happened to Aunt Kate, the missing kids and the strange hold this Show has onto the real world. Who is Amanda? What is Hameln? Piece together the puzzle and draw your own conclusion of this disturbing tale of family, friendship and abandonment with heavy supernatural undertones.

For those curious about this game, whether you have seen it all over your YouTube explore page or watched CoryXKenshin play this and want to take this game on for yourself, you can find Amanda the Adventurer on Windows, available at Steam. Keep in mind that this game is only available at Steam as of its release in April, 2023 but with its high praise received already, we can see more being done with this game. Be that a sequel or perhaps more platforms available for Amanda the Adventurer. Will we actually see this game play out on our Television screens, be it for Nintendo Switch, Xbox or PlayStation, we are not sure. However, with other Children’s Toys turned Horror, like Five Nights at Freddy’s and Poppy Playtime who have giant fanbases, I hope that this game gets all of the attention it deserves for a long time.
Is Amanda the Adventurer Free to Play?
With many options nowadays to play a good Horror Game on Steam or Itch.io, for free or a small payment, you may have anticipated Amanda the Adventurer to have a similar price tag. Although this Indie Horror Game is on the shorter side, it’s creativity and complexity gives it opportunity to ask for more money from its customers. For this reason, Amanda the Adventurer is currently available for $8.09 on Steam until May 2nd, after which it will go to its full pricing of $8.99. The full release is only available on Steam but you have the opportunity to check out the game in Demo form via Steam and Itch.io if you are interested in seeing this first before you commit to a full purchase.
The Demo offers intriguing mysteries that will likely entice you enough to purchase the full game. We highly recommend you give this Horror Game a go as you will not be disappointed. If you are a Horror Game fan like myself, graphics typically seen in Indie Horror do not matter, these Developers shine under narrative, atmosphere and dialogue and Amanda the Adventurer ticks all three boxes and then some.
