How to play a co-op campaign in Iron Harvest

Nothing better than fighting alongside a friend.

Iron Harvest is an alternate history World War I RTS game where alongside the soldiers come huge mechs to lay waste to people and structures alike. Being an RTS, the game can get very busy and crazy as you have to micromanage numerous conflicts at once. To help ease the burden, or for a bit of fun, you can start a co-op campaign with a friend to navigate the madness together. Here is how to start a co-op campaign in Iron Harvest.

Starting the lobby

If you want to lead side-by-side with an ally, you’d better start up a lobby to get them in the game.

Firstly, you must open the ‘campaign overview’ menu, which gives you the details, missions, and cutscenes from all available campaigns. Select the mission you want to play. Once selected, click the ‘start coop’ button in the bottom row.

Doing so will create a multiplayer obby. There is no matchmaking, so you can only create a lobby. From the lobby menu, you must invite your allies. You can invite up to two friends, allowing the mission to be shared between three commanders.

The invite will be done through the site that you got the game from, so make sure you have your friends connected via that site (for example, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, etc.) to allow you to invite them externally.

They will receive the invite and connect to your lobby. Their profile will appear in one of the slots.

When everyone is ready to go, you can click ‘start coop,’ and you will all be thrown into the level.

Playing a coop campaign

Playing a coop campaign is not only fun, but incredibly helpful.

When playing with other people, you will all be on the same size and will share all the units. There are not more or less units than there are in a solo campaign.

Having more people controlling the same units allows for a more streamlined and focused game as your forces will be able to respond to more than one threat at a time, providing a huge advantage.

However, coop campaigns do not save like normal, you must get to the end and complete the level, else you will have to start all over again.
