Each Map in Demonologist has something special within – a secret that you must uncover, be that a new method of performing an exorcism or unlocking a secret door by following a specific set of steps. Who knows what will come of this Early Access Ghost Hunting Game, but for now, many players are curious about one thing: how do we open Maria’s Room? Whether this is an Easter Egg or not, sometimes a break away from Ghost Hunting can do our brain some good. This is our guide on how to open Maria’s Room in Demonologist.
Maria’s Room – What we Know so Far
Maria’s Room is just one of the mysteries within the second Map of Demonologist, Cyclone St. Players will find Maria’s Room within the Basement, indicated by the door with the carved out words ‘Maria Room’ with a heart outline and a Key. Every match you head into, a Keyman Riddle is provided as a hint towards uncovering the mystery from within the haunted place. In Cyclone St. players will have this Riddle to refer back to in the steps to unlocking Maria’s Room. The Riddle is as follows:
“I keep staring at walls, losing track of time. A descent into madness, words start becoming untrue. A crimson-soaked blade, the blood of the heart is due.
A dream of the dead consumes me, haunting my every thought. The abuse lies within, or so I was taught.
Love’s door remains locked, as the clock strikes three. My wrath contained within, waiting for the key.
This world I inhabit, where the line of madness is blurred, can only be solved in particular steps and words.
I scream into the void, hoping my voice will carry. For if I don’t speak my truth, they’ll come for me… Mary.
It’s all in my head. It’s all in my head. It’s all in my head.”

The Solution to Open Maria’s Room
There are multiple points to take from the Riddle, with more discoveries likely to be found within the Cyclone St. walls. But for now, this is all we know regarding the opening of Maria’s Room. There are a lot of steps to unlocking the door and unfortunately no one has got this Room open yet. Let us dive into each step and how it relates to the Riddle we are given, taking each line one by one. We believe that this will be the order in which you will need to correctly hit the steps listed below to link to the lines in the Riddle.
- ‘I Keep Staring at Walls‘ – Stand in front of Maria’s Room, looking in. After a while, you will see a jumpscare from inside the room itself. I believe this is the first line of the Riddle and therefore must be seen first.
- ‘A Crimson-soaked Blade, the Blood of the Heart‘ – Go to the Fireplace Mantle piece and look/interact with the Camera with the writing ‘Smile :)’ etched into the wall next to it, say ‘Smile’. This is a guess that the Blade is referring to the Camera, perhaps it was used at the time of Maria’s death, being ‘due’ for blood to be spilt for the recording.
- ‘Dreams of the Dead Consumes Me…Abuse Lies Within‘ – Head to the Bedroom as implied by the beginning of this line in the riddle. Go inside the Closet, a Purse can be found with ‘Lust’ on it. Say the word out loud. I believe the Purse is related to the abuse within as you have to look within the closet to find her Lust.
- ‘As the Clock Strikes Three‘ – You need to use the three Wall Clocks again, (their spawns are randomized) and input the Time of Death of the Ghost as 3am does not work for this Riddle. You should input the final Time of Death into the Clock closest to Maria’s Room. You will hear the Clock chime for the hour to indicate that the time is correct. Looking into the Room at this moment will give you a jumpscare.
- ‘I Scream into the Void‘ – Find the Book on the Bookcase in the Basement that reads ‘Limbo’. Limbo is referred to as the space between life and death, a form of purgatory where there is absolutely nothing. This would be Maria screaming into the literal void. This then leads directly into ‘they’ll come for me’ which is found at the end of the passage revealed by the Limbo Book. This results in Crosses falling and a woman’s laugh can be heard.
- ‘Mary‘ – Head to the top floor and say “Bloody Mary” three times into the Bathroom Mirror.
Food for Thought
We may be missing a key step for ‘A Dream of the Dead’, perhaps relating directly to the Bed inside the Bedroom. Although I believe it is a locational hint for players to find the Lust Purse as this has been the only item found in the room. There is speculation of the phrase: ‘The Key to Maria’s Heart’ being said at Maria’s Door. Perhaps this should be said directly after viewing the visual and audio change within the room to hit the first line of the Riddle. The question is, where is the metaphorical Blade? The Heart we can assume is seen at the door to Maria’s Room, but can the Blade be seen within or do we need to take an item ourselves to the Door?
I believe that we have collected all items needed for opening the door, the question is what order do we do these in and are we missing anything we need to say at any point to complete the order?
Conclusion
I believe we are close to solving this Riddle but there is much more to uncover within Cyclone St. It seems that what remains to uncover is confirmation that the lines of the Riddle link to each item we have found. Players should focus on the order in which the steps must be hit as we believe we have found all the relevant items needed to unlock Maria’s Room. Therefore, uncovering the secret passage should be the penultimate step you do, then followed by the final step of saying “Bloody Mary” into the Mirror.
