Halo Infinite multiplayer has launched Season 1: the Heroes of Reach. One of the main draws of this game is customizing your Spartan with unique mods to make it stand out from the rest. Skins and mods are nothing new in multiplayer games, nor is the battle pass progression system 343 Industries implemented to unlock these flashy rewards. However, the leveling process is a grind, making players wonder what the best way is to level up fast in Halo Infinite.
Each level in the Halo Infinite multiplayer battle pass requires 1,000 XP, and unlike some other progression systems, it remains this way throughout all levels. That means you will need 100,000 XP to reach level 100, the maximum tier. If you want to know how to level up fast in Halo Infinite, you’ll want to understand how the challenges work.
What’s the fastest way to level up in Halo Infinite?
Outside of flat out purchasing battle pass levels using Credits, the only way to level up in Halo Infinite is completing challenges. You can use XP boosts if you have them available to make the process go more quickly. Inside the Heroes of Reach battle pass section, you can find a list of daily and weekly challenges. Each challenge grants anywhere from 100 to 250+ XP and can include objectives such as:
- Practice Makes Perfection 1: Play any Match
- Full Command: Kill Enemy Spartans with the Commando Rifle
- Ghost Runner: Kill an Enemy Spartan with the Ghost’s Plasma Cannons
- Under Control: Complete a Total Control Match
- Overwatch: Save an allies’ life from far away in PvP
You can also tap on upcoming weekly challenges to view the next round of weekly challenges and plan accordingly. The weekly challenges in Halo Infinite appear to reset weekly on Tuesdays at 9 AM PT (noon ET), and the daily challenges reset daily at 9 AM PT (noon ET).
Players get up to 20 Weekly Challenges a week (4,600 XP/week) and one daily challenge available per day (700 XP/week). In total, that’s 5,300 XP per week or a little over five levels or tiers per week. That means it will take you about 19 weeks to reach level 100 in the current Season 1 Battle Pass. One thing to note, though, is that this is not taking into account the XP Boosts.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, you do not gain any XP for completing matches, and that means you only gain XP from completing the challenges available to you. Each challenge may require you to play a specific mode or perform different objectives, so make sure to take a look at them and focus on ticking them off one by one. Some challenges, such as Full Command, can be completed in Bot Bootcamp mode. Playing against AI can speed things up a bit since, well, they’re bots.
How to unlock XP boosts in Halo Infinite
To unlock XP boosts in Halo Infinite, you need to level up the battle pass. Challenge Swaps or XP Boosts are rewarded for all players in the free track of the battle pass every level. That means all you need to do to get XP boosts is focus on leveling up your battle pass. You can access your boosts by going into the battle pass section and tapping on the boosts button.
As we mentioned, you can also purchase level boosts in the Battle Pass. Levels can be purchased in the Season 1 Battle Pass section for 200 Credits a piece. Alternatively, you can purchase the premium Battle Pass for a 25 level headstart.
Many players are criticizing the Halo Infinite battle pass progression system since the grind is slow and tedious. We’ll have to wait to see if 343 Industries responds to the feedback. They would likely need to implement another way to gain XP or increase the current XP per challenge.
