Hogwarts Legacy is becoming one of the most popular games to be released in 2023 for good reason. With fantastic graphics, an elaborate yet original storyline, and a one-of-a-kind combat system, this videogame practically deserves the top spot of the year. Produced by Avalanche Software based on the original Harry Potter series designed by J.K. Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy takes place a century before the many events in Harry Potter. In this game, players will attend Hogwarts as a student, and get to learn all about the many spells, potions and wildlife that exist in this magical world.
Some of these spells can only be learned by completing quests and missions, however, and thus players must go out of their way to unlock them. One of these is Depulso, the spell that pushes things (enemies, objects, etc.) away from you. In this guide, we explain how to get Depulso in Hogwarts Legacy.

To unlock the Depulso spell in Hogwarts Legacy, you must first complete Professor Sharp’s first assignment that you are given. Pictured above, Professor Sharp wants you to make three potions and consume them, after which you will finish this quest and earn the spell.
To get these potions you can either choose to make them, or simply purchase them from Mr. Pippin in Hogsmeade, which will cost you approximately 1,500 Galleons. If you would like to make them yourself, here are the recipes for these potions.
- Endurus Potion recipe – Requires 1 Ashwinder Egg, 1 Mongrel Fur
- Focus Potion recipe – Requires 1 Lacewing Flies, 1 Fluxweed Stem, 1 Dugbog Tongue
- Maxima Potion recipe – Requires 1 Leech Juice, 1 Spider Fang
Drink these potions after you have acquired them to earn the spell – but make sure to consume them while they are all active in turn to finish this mission. Speak with Professor Sharp after class and he will teach you about Depulso.
