Ultrakill is the game of retro rampage and mayhem as you shoot your way through enemies and obstacles that are a blast from the blast. In an arcade-style of game play, you’ll be none-stop slaughtering and shooting your way past all sorts of tough enemies. So it’s safe to say that you’ll be suffering from damage from time to time. Here is how to heal in Ultrakill.
How to heal in Ultrakill
Most games include some sort of healing system, to prolong your life in hopes of completing the mission before it’s game over. These are generally indicated by health packs, or med kits, or explicit, life-affirming tools and items. In Ultrakill, however, such healing frivolities are a thing of the past. The only thing that heals, is blood of your enemies. How very poetic.
That’s right, you need to bathe in the blood of your foes to heal yourself. I mean, want not waste not, right? When you deal damage to an opponent, you may notice the blood splatter that paints the walls and floor. Any sort of blood won’t heal, however, the blood needs to be fresh and pouring from a body.

You need to be very close to a bleeding enemy, or under their raining blood. Any close contact with the stuff will heal you up, so it will pay to get up close and personal with your opponents. Blasting them with a shotgun at close range will almost guarantee a huge blood spurt in your direction, providing loads of healthpoints.
Note that you must be close to your enemies to benefit from this.
