In these uncertain times, it can be hard to buy every game that you want. And while Xbox Game Pass can give Xbox players quick access to some of the biggest games releasing, not every big title is going to make it there. Plus there’s the added fact that most DLC for games never makes it to Game Pass. Luckily, Microsoft Rewards is a great program that can remedy this. Let’s explain how you can get Xbox gift cards for free.

While this guide will focus specifically on how to get Xbox Gift cards for free, it’s worth noting that the points that you earn from following these steps can be used for a whole bunch of other things such as gift cards to restaurants, Xbox Live Gold, and even as donations to some leading non-profit organizations.

  1. The first step that you’re going to want to do is head to the Microsoft Rewards website and sign up for the program.
  2. Next, you’ll be able to download the app to your Xbox console and check your tasks there or explore them via the site after signing in.
  3. There are various different types of ways to earn points, each varying on how much work needs to be put in to earn them. They can range from earning achievements, visiting a game page, participating in a quiz, or using the Bing browser.
  4. Every task has a visibly noticeable difference in how many points you’ll earn for doing them so your best bet is to focus on the ones that net you the most points. The monthly punchcard ones always give 500 points so those are always the best place to start.
  5. Additionally, sometimes there are punchcards that can also give you points for purchasing games from their seasonal sales, renting movies, or purchasing the specified featured games. These can award you anywhere from 2000 to 6000 points which is an easy way to score points for things you were already planning to purchase anyway.
  6. If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber then you have an extra way of earning points as completing your daily quests contributes to your Rewards balance of points. These quests are pretty easy to complete and you can even earn a few just for playing specific games or earning a single achievement in them.
  7. Once you have at least 1600 points in your balance, then you can start redeeming for Xbox Gift Cards. These gift cards come in many different amounts and each tier is discounted slightly to reward those that save as many of their points as possible before redemption.
  8. To do this, just head over to the Rewards tab and search for Xbox Gift Cards, choose the one you want, and redeem it. It’s that easy!

That’s all there is to it! It’s a simple program that really rewards players just for playing and purchasing games. It’s also a program that not every player knows about so there are countless players that aren’t taking full advantage of being an Xbox player.
