How to Get Town Slimes in Terraria

Up until the Labor of Love update, Town Pets were limited to just the Town Cat, Town Dog, and Town Bunny. Now, however, there are eight Town Slimes you can hang out with. Here’s how to get them all:

  • Cool Slime — The Cool Slime will only reveal themselves when there’s an active Party event in your town. That being said, they only arrive when a natural party is occurring, not if you use a party center.
  • Clumsy Slime — The Clumsy Slime can be found in the Space Layer biome. It can randomly be spotted floating around with a balloon near the floating islands. However, you will need to pop the balloon and help it down to move it into your town.
  • Diva Slime — The Diva Slime can only be acquired by throwing a Sparkle Slime Balloon (drops after defeating Queen Slime) into a pool of Shimmer. After that, you can adopt Diva Slime.
  • Elder Slime — The Elder Slime will only reveal itself after you manage to unlock an Old Shaking Chest found in the Cavern Layer biome by using a Golden Key.
  • Mystic Slime — The Mystic Slime can only be found in the Jungle biome of Terraria. There, you will have to use Purification Powder on a Mystic Frog to spawn the Slime. The powder is easy to get from the Dryad, but if you’re having difficulty finding the frog, you can use the Lifeform Analyzer to assist you.
  • Nerdy Slime — The Nerdy Slime will move in only after you’ve defeated the King Slime. Who is one of the earliest and easiest pre-Hardmode bosses.
  • Squire Slime — The Squire Slime isn’t found but rather crafted. To create a Squire Slime, you will need to craft a copper helmet (15 Copper Bars) and drop the helmet into any basic slime. The slime will then transform into the town slime. Royal Gel should be used so that you don’t accidentally kill the slime.
  • Surly Slime — The Surly Slime can be acquired by fishing during a Blood Moon event. You can increase your chances of fishing out this special slime by creating your own fishing pond and securing your base from attacks.
