Here is the location and boss you need to farm to get the Stonethrower:

  • Item: Stonethrower
  • Location: Ashfall Peaks – Caldera Stronghold, Gehenna
  • Boss: Kormash

First, make sure you have the latest Borderlands 3 Bounty of Blood expansion, as the item is exclusive to this DLC. Start by going to Ashfall Peaks, and fast traveling to Caldera Stronghold. From the fast travel point, head to the end of the map to get to the boss, Kormash. There is a save point in the room before the fight, so make sure to pick that up for a quick walk.

Dropdown into the arena and look for Kormash standing on the back left side. Run up the right side and melt him as soon as you can. He has a chance to drop the Stonethrower, which is what we’re trying to get. You will likely find it within a couple of runs, as it does not seem all that rare.

Looking at the stats of the Stonethrower, we can see the damage is high, and all other stats are about average. Weapon stats offer increased weapon damage and reload speed with a 3.3x weapon soon. The Stonethrower cannot be elemental, in case you were wondering. This weapon fits in with the western-theme of the expansion.

Stonethrower fires slow-moving projectiles that have yellow trails. Bullets travel through the target, and body shots ricochet to other enemies. Critical hits to the head do not ricochet, however. Overall, this is a viable Jakobs weapon for mobbing and bossing as long as you find one with good rolls.
