How to get The Blanc in Borderlands 3 Bounty of Blood

  • Item: The Blanc
  • Location: The Blastplains, Gehenna
  • Boss: Ipswitch Dunne

Before we dive in, make sure you have the Bounty of Blood DLC because this legendary pistol is exclusive. Head over the Blastplains and grab the save point on the map shown below. There is also a route you can take for a shortcut to Ipswitch Dunne.

The boss has a decent chance to drop The Blanc, so you may only need to do a few runs, but it all comes down to luck. At first glance, the damage and fire rate is very high on this weapon. All other stats are about average for a pistol.

Red text on The Blanc reads, “this machine unerringly arrives at the truth.” The Blanc grants +40% Melee Damage, and 1.5x and 3.0x weapon zoom. The bottom stat reads, “Damaging enemies grants +35% weapon damage for a short time when switching between firing modes. Stacks 10 times.” The Blanc can drop in all the elements, including the non-elemental form.

Firing this gun causes you to get a stack that increases weapon damage. The damage stacks do not apply until you switch firing modes, though. These stacks fall off after 12 seconds. To use this weapon effectively, you should swap to the other fire modes (auto, semi-auto, burst) whenever you need to reload. Doing this ensures you always have the maximum stacks. If you do the match, ten stacks at 35% should equal 350% overall weapon damage. However, calculating the weapon damage in-game comes out to be 450% instead.

Another thing to note is the bullets ricochet from The Blanc. Overall, this weapon is useful for mobbing and killing bosses. It does a ton of damage for a Dahl and is viable for Mayhem 10 if you maintain your stacks.
