How to get the Legendary Spade in Borderlands 3 Bounty of Blood

  • Item: Spade
  • Location: Obsidian Forest, Gehenna
  • Boss: Waylon Hurd

First, make sure you have the Bounty of Blood DLC because the area we need to go to is on Gehenna. Next, fast travel to Obsidian Forest. Waylon Hurd is the mob we are looking to farm, and he’s in the middle of the map. A bit north of his location on the map is a save point. Make sure to get that because it makes the walk a lot shorter.

The Spade is a Legendary Torgue Shotgun that drops from Waylon Hurd. At first glance, all stats are about average, except the fire rate is very high for a Torgue weapon. The gun comes in all of the elements, including non-elemental form. Considering this weapon is called the Spade, the look of it makes sense.

One effect of this weapon is that “Gyrojets penetrate targets leaving sticky bombs on all enemies they pass through.” Because of this effect, you can maximize your damage by shooting at the floor of the enemy. That way, you get the added damage from the bullets that pass through once they explode. The Spade is not fully automatic, but you can fire it quickly if you click fast enough.

Overall, it’s a viable weapon for mobbing and bossing. Spamming this gun creates a lot of effects happening on the screen at once, which might drastically reduce your frames. Another thing to note is that the Spade is very accurate at long range, which might sound weird for a shotgun.
