How to get the Glowing Primalist Cache in World of Warcraft Dragonflight

Weather the storm, win a prize.

It’s pretty much a rule of fantasy settings that any chests or caches that emit a distinctive glow are either full of awesome stuff or cursed as all get-out. Luckily, World of Warcraft doesn’t do the latter (I think), which means you’re guaranteed to get something cool if you open a cool chest, provided you can find it. Here’s how to get the Glowing Primalist Cache in World of Warcraft Dragonflight.

The Glowing Primalist Cache is a special kind of chest in World of Warcraft Dragonflight, introduced alongside the Storm’s Fury World Event. You need to be level 45 to open one up, and it’ll bind to you immediately when you do. If you can crack one of these suckers, you’ll receive some fabulous prizes, including:

  • Gold
  • Dragon Isles Supplies
  • Storm Sigils
  • Cosmetic Primalist Weapons and Armor

So how do you score one of these glowy boxes? Glowing Primalist Caches are given out as prizes for completing the Storm’s Fury World Event, which you can unlock by chatting up Zawarudu at the Seat of the Aspects in Valdrakken. You’ll need to complete the quest “Storm Warning” before you get access to the event proper in Dragon Isles.

For the Storm’s Fury event, you’ll be placed in a large, circular territory on the map, scattered throughout which are a handful of Primalist portals. You’ll need to make your way to each of these portals and defend them from several waves of Primalist mooks until your side can fully capture them. Keep in mind that, even after you capture a portal, it’ll still get attacked, so you’ll need to make sure every portal under your control stays that way until they’ve all been captured.

Once your side assumes control of all the portals, the boss’ barrier will break down, allowing you to take it on. Seismodor, Earth’s Wrath has 33 million health (scaling notwithstanding), so I hope you brought a big team along for this one.

If you can defeat the boss, you’ll clear the Storm’s Fury event and receive a Glowing Primal Cache for your trouble. At this point, Storm’s Fury will be unlocked for good on your account, and you can play it again at your leisure for more rewards. Keep in mind, though, that you can only get a Glowing Primal Cache after clearing it the first time; all subsequent victories will only reward lesser caches.
